The ski shop mounted one of my step ups upside down

So I just picked up my new stepups and the goofs at the shop mounted one of them with the graphics going the wrong way.

I figure it won't affect anything as they're symmetrical skis, but am I wrong? should I be taking them back?

As they are symmetrical it makes no difference at all. I mounted my Afterbangs with the graphics opposite each other, don't worry at all!

this is why you always want to label your tips and tails and mark on the topsheet directly where you want them mounted (this last point isn't directed specifically at you).

if you leave it up to a tech to guess which way is which, then you run the greater risk of things being interpreted incorrectly.

Measure them to make sure the bindings are in the same position. Line used to say you could mount Anthems backwards, or one forward one backwards, but the line on the ski was 5mm back of true centre, meaning a 10mm difference if one was mounted backwards.

you should be sure the flex and camber profiles are perfectly symmetrical as well, not just the dimensions

Yep, I made sure to label when I got my symmetrical ON3P FRs mounted.

I had the same skis they mounted mine like that too. Don't worry it won't affect anything there a symmetrical twin tip

The StepUps have a symmetrical flex. Since they are a symmetrically shaped and flexing park ski, I presume the camber profile is also symmetrical. However if I current owner of the StepUps could just confirm the last point regarding it's camber profile.

I have the 2013 stepups with 1 mounted backwards as well (you've got last years). They (2013 ones) are actually shown like that on line's website, but I've seen other people riding them both forwards. I don't really think it matters which way you mount them - they ski fine for me with one backwards and IMO look better like that.

I feel like although this is true, problems like this are mentioned a lot on NS and makes me kind of worry about the tech's they hire these days in the ski industry. 75% of them are absolutely retarded.

careful though cause you can't do this with every symmetrical ski...i was going to do it with my walls but luckily i emailed volkl first and they said the tails were slightly stiffer.

Yep this is true, to all guys reading this thread considering mounting their symmetrical skis backwards make sure your manufacturers advertise them as have a symmetrical flex and that they have a symmetrical camber/rocker profile

These skis are symmetrical in all ways so in performance terms, it shouldn't affect the way they ski in any way. I have OCD though so it would stress me out.

true, many techs are just people needing jobs and don't know the skis model by model. but, most of the issues I see here (not all) are greatly related to the customer not taking the few extra steps to ensure that simple errors don't happen. yes the tech should know, but if you can do your part too it will only help

I had 2006 invaders mounted upside down. They were symmetrical in every respect, so it was fine, but many skis aren't.

Yeah I checked up on that before I rode on them.

Used them today for the first time and I didn't notice any difference. awesome skis too I love em.
