Does anyone else do this or are I just weird?

This radio show does a segment weekly where they say something they think they only do in hopes that people call in and say they do too. Basically just saying something that you do that's weird and see if other people do it too.

I am curious to see what NS thinks they do that nobody else does. I'll start, I have to put my right shoe on first. Can't remember the last time I put the left one on before the right one.

Oh, fuck, this so much. Sorry I'm post-whoring, but I seriously think I have an addiction to gum. I mentally freak out if I don't have a pack on me. I also constantly feel my pockets for the outline of the pack/container to make sure it hasn't fallen out. The downside, besides the anxiety, is that I am constantly asked for a piece because everyone knows I keep a pack on me.

Everywhere i go i count my steps and i always need to take an odd number of steps to wherever i walk. If im watching tv or in my room, the items on the table need to be lined up a certain way with certain distances between them. The couch needs to be lined up with the rug. Etc.

mine all have to do with facial twitches, for example:
if i squint my left eye for some reason, or just use the muscles on one side of my face, i immediately have to do the exact same action with the right side afterwards and vice versa. it goes sooo much further than that but not worth explaining

Whenever i'm skiing and I mess up/crash after a rail or a jump I always make some sort of odd noise without even thinking about it...Something similar too wooooaaaahhh in a high pitched tone. Weird shit

I need to use bar soap when I shower. I hate body wash

Its rare when i dont check my social media like every 15 minutes

If i need more than just a sleep for sleeping then my room is too hot. I also need it pitch black. Like not even the light from my laptop charger can be exposed. I have 2 blankets covering my window right now.

whenever I'm doing homework, studying, or taking a test i have the words going through my head in Christoper Walken's voice. Every once in a while a random, stereotypical, asian guy voice or sometimes some other actors or singers voices makes a guest appearance, but its pretty much almost always Walken.... But its only ever work related and i have no idea why....

I didn't notice how constant it was until today after reading this thread last night... anybody ells do anything like this at all?

I try and take a snapshot of something moving very quickly like a super slow-mo bit in a film that then goes back to normal speed.

Sometimes when I'm talking or walking past someone I'll stick my tongue out and in as fast as possible to see if they notice.

I have a worryingly large urge to shout or scream utter gibberish in quiet lectures or classes.

Urge to say extremely offensive things to people even though I know I never would..the thought always crosses my mind though.

I'll add more later when I can remember the many more strange ways of my every day life

Whenever there is tar lines or pavement patches on the road they become a line of drums to me. So if there is a line/patch on the left side of the road I click my left molars repeatedly or to a bass line, if there's a line/patch in the center it's my front teeth and too the right it's my right molars, I always make drum beats when driving. If there is two together then I click both sets of teeth that apply. Also if there is no tar lines or if I'm feeling like jamming I use the street lines.

Whenever I am passenger in a car I look at the posts on the side of the road right near the front of the window so when we go by it looks like they shoot into hyperspeed or some shit.

I also make a noise in my head unless we are passing an object and I pause the noise just as long as we are passing it. I think I have adhd

I have noticed that at work I have to have a headphone in one ear when I am not on the phone. Sometimes I put the headphone in and music isnt even playing. I don't realize this untill like 10 mins later.

sometimes when on internet, i without no reason start swap back and fourth between different tabs, constantly switching tabs as fast as possible, it somehow clears my mind of thoughts.

When i drink out of a water fountain, i always count how many gulps of water i drink and it's always gotta be a multiple of 5. I don't know why.

i think about if i were to rob a place how i would do it. ill look for cameras and where they are facing. look how i could take the money out of the register. i have never robbed a place or anything. i have a clean record. i just do that some times

Sometimes when I'm walking into wind outside, my eyes start to dry out and I blink to rehyrdrate them. I then start to think too much about blinking and bring myself to the point where the act of blinking goes from a involuntary bodily function to something that I'm completely aware of and have to do voluntarily. It's annoying as fuck and I have to focus my mind on something else to stop thinking about it. It takes a while sometimes.

Anyone else do this?

Yep. Same thing with breathing. If i think about breathing it starts to feel voluntary and it's super fucking annoying. I'm doing it right now.

I'll do a lot of something, like smoking cigarettes, get addicted, then realize it's stupid and stop. Same thing with drinking for me. I just go through phases fast?

A similar thing happens to me with sleep. Normally I'll fall asleep with something else on my mind but when I think about the process or falling asleep for that matter I'm stuck awake for hours even if the thought of sleeping has passed on. My sleep patterns are then disrupted for days.

I eat my burgers and sandwhich was upside down so I can taste all the ingredients better.

I always have my wallet and phone and keys in their respective pockets. I have a real quick system of pats to check and make sure they are all there. I always try to make it as sneaky as possible.

i do some things people have mentioned but have broke the habits pretty well.


I can't be around tall stuff though. Its not that i'm afraid of heights, it that i'm actually afraid i'lll jump. I was in Chicago over the summer and staid at a place on the 76th floor. I went out on the balcony by myself, late at night. I just took a deep breath in the night, and looked over the city. I put my hands on the railing (which was pretty low, im a pretty tall guy). I just leaned out like crazy, then leaned further, and jumped a little and then would jump then push myself out then back in with me hands. God damn can't even describe it, its like rush and almost a feeling of freedom. I ripped myself away from that balcony and went inside and locked the door. I couldn't go out there again.

weird I am the exact opposite. If I have alot on my mind I think about sleep and try to focus on how tired I am, just think about how heavy my eyelids are. Keep telling myself I am tired and going to pass out. After about 2 mins, I usually pass out easily.

I always need to have chapstick on me. If I don't I always end up worrying about getting chapped lips. Then i end up licking my lips and drying them out because i think about it too much.
