Tell A Friend Tour

This December I will be driving the Line Traveling Circus Van to the east and stopping at seven resorts and shops. At each stop Ian Compton, Jack Borland, and I will be handing out free stuff, filming, starting mini rail jams, raffling things away, and feeding you pizza!

The dates, shops and resorts are:

Dec 1st Basin Ski Shop / Killington, VT
Dec 2nd Totem Pole Ski / Okemo, VT

Dec 16th Ski Rack / Sugar Bush VT

Dec 23rd Ski Company / Toggenburg, NY

This tour has been a dream of mine over the last five years and I want to make it memorable for everyone who shows up. I really want to make this about you so I have called and emailed a bunch of company's to send stuff to give away. Big thanks to these companies for sending me stuff because in the end I'm giving it all away to you.

Good Question!

Each tour stop starts at a shop thats close (sometimes its right down the road or 30 min away) and then concludes at the same shop after skiing for pizza, free stuff and a raffle. Only resort stop that doesn't have a morning shop meeting is Sugar bush because its kinds far from Ski Rack in Burlington, VT.

So the Killington the stop would go kinda like this...

9am: Meet at Basin Ski Shop and have some food, give a few things away and watch some skiing to get pumped for the day

10am: Show up at Killington and start to ski. During skiing we will be filming, starting mini rail jams, hike features with everyone, filming and just have fun.

4pm: Head back to the Basin and watch some more skiing, eat pizza, raffle stuff off and give away some free stuff.

Supper easy and kinda what we already do with Line Traveling Circus when we go to places but a bit more organized and geared towards getting everyone excited to ski.

I really wanted to get shops involved as much as possible because I think they are a big part of skiing and our culture. I kinda see shops as being the place to come hang out after skiing, watch movies, and be part of the local ski culture.

Might be a dumb question but you guys do realize there are like three to four times as many ski resorts and shops in eastern PA than Western PA right???? How bout a little love for Sno, Blue, Boulder, Bear Creek????

Yes we do, and I would love to go to all of them!

With limited time and money I had to make some hard decisions on what shops and resorts to go to. In the end I picked shops and resorts that have been cool with us in the past, or have marketing people that know whats going on in freeskiing. I had contacted one resort and the marketing guy had no idea that they carried Line Skis in the shop, and that was a red flag for me. I want to go to shops and resorts with people that are excited about freeskiing and can help it grow.

I'm confident this year will go well and next year if I get more support I will expand the shops and resorts list. However being year one I didn't have the resources to go that many places. More people I get to "like" the FB page, and sign up for events the more ammo I have for next year when looking for sponsors, shops and resorts.

Sickest contest out, one of the only times i'm bummed to not still be living in cny or burlington. Hoping to see you guys on the west coast soon though and cheers to this being a frickin awesome event.

First of all, weather.com is not a great source for weather, use something local. Second of all according to the forecast they have the opportunity to make snow each night from Tuesday onward. Last year they opened with a little over 48 hours of snow making. I'm no snow making expert but I they have a chance.

Well the weather in pittsburgh/7 springs area truly fucking sucks right now rain for the next 5 days and warm temperatures awful week after springs opening weekend. I'm hoping it changes to cold as soon as possible so they can turn the snow guns back on and have a decent set up for this
