Atheism... Why do it?

1. Atheists really enjoy being smarter and more rational than everyone else. Have you noticed that about Atheists? I have.

2. Atheists tend to be haters who don't believe in anything. You get excited about something cool and they are always all skeptical, asking lots of critical questions, and basically kill the positive energy.

3. They love reading Reddit.com, which is a perfectly good site (never been), but they get all smug about how Reddit is better than other sites. Like is there some rule that if you don't worship the real God, you have to worship Reddit instead?!? WTF?

4. Atheists love to mock hard working, religious Americans who love their kids, work hard, and go to church.

5. Atheists think they are rational and scientific but isn't it more rational and open minded to say that God *might* exist? Should real scientists keep an open mind?

6. Atheists are some of the biggest trolls on the Internet. They will probably start trolling me just for writing this post.

7. Atheists are the kind of people who enjoy telling small children that Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny are all fake. Thanks for ruining all the fun, atheist! I guess you think a 5 year old knowing “the truth” is more important than them having a happy childhood.

8. They just suck. You don't even need a reason. It is obvious. Just accept it.

look at south America, those people had never heard of any western ideas and they killed one another.

saying religion is stupid is like saying the evolution of man kind is stupid. as we evolve we learn and grow from our actions. a thousand years ago noone knew what we do now, so obviously they are going to believe in some higher power.

for thousands of years every group of people had some type of religion to base their lives on. You saying religion is worthless is similar to saying we should have stopped evolving and stayed cavemen.

I just can't wrap my mind around how Earth would be at the center of all this. There's an infinite amount of like, everything in the universe, and to believe that God chose Earth to conduct his shit on is so hardto believe.

I am simply saying that we don't need MODERN religion, and without any religion ever, the human race would have turned out better. Replace religion with science. If we had organized peaceful science, things would have been better for everyone.

Since religion is a lie, but it coincidentally can't be dis-proven, it is fact that The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is more logical.

people who use the argument that people need religion to be good people peeve me. I think if you are a good person, you will be a good person whether or not you are religious. Just because you're religious doesn't make you a good person.

Only reason he chose Earth was because the people who first met him didn't know that anything else existed, and they told other people. There were no other galaxies 1000 years ago. Hell used to be below Earth and Heaven was above. Earth was the only place which was an option.

Now children, it is time to stop believing things just because you are told them. Nobody else has any way of knowing more about god than you.

Don't make blanket statements like this. I am an atheist but that doesn't mean I shut people down with skepticism when they hear about something cool, and it definitely doesn't mean I ruin people's childhoods by telling them there is no santa, tooth fairy, or easter bunny.

no doubt I'd most certainly go atheist before considering that. Most of us agree that religion is silly and outdated yes. Organized religion is a lot of silliness imo. I like religion for its morals but people take it wayyy too far. The most important thing in life is to be a good person. Some of the nicest people I've ever met are from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

I'm an atheist. Do I hate people who believe in religion? No. What I do hate is when people try to impose their personal beliefs on others (including atheists trying to convince others there is no god). Everyone has a right to their own beliefs. I also don't rule out the possibility of god existing, and am open to change, but currently I just don't believe in it.

and.... Judaism IMO is just the same as all other religions in respects to the fact they use faith not reason. Although I like Judaism because they, unlike nearly all other religions are not allowed to force their beliefs on others. (My town is like 40% Jewish, holy shit i know. but it pisses me off when kids say that Christianity makes no sense when they themselves are Jewish.) However I'll respect, yet kindly debate the opinions of those who are members of a religion.

The "you can't disprove god" argument is so fucking overdone.

I believe in a magical polka dot seahorse deity who controls time and made life on earth and floats from universe to universe seeding life with his little seahorse poops.

And you can't disprove it, therefore it is POSSIBLE to exist.

I think the whole jesus thing is why Jews say that. judaism is one thing and christianity is another. basically the crazy jews started christianity. this is just my opinion and not 100% true, They took Judaism to another level with this jesus fellow which evolved into christianity.

i think people take it too literally. i was raised in a religous home but i never actually thought I had to 'love' some big invisible guy. I think most people use that as a simile. you love your neighbor as yourself, blah blah etc. Is it possible to love something you can't see/hear/feel/touch? for me no, but maybe some people can.

He hasn't brought up anything, all that is meant by that verse is that you are supposed to treat others as you would want to be treated. In Ar6rider's extreme case, it means you don't hate that person, or try to kill them or something, you try to help them become a better person.
