Resurrect it? It hasn't changed since day 1.
Here's the intrinsic problem with WTB: There isn't a huge supply of stuff for sale at any given time on the NS forums.
Most potential buyers want to buy new items and they want to buy them now. But most NSers who are sellers are selling a mixture of old gear, and they're using NS because it's more convenient than Ebay or Craigslist. Sellers don't want to navigate through hundreds of WTB threads to see if somebody has requested a piece of gear they're selling, and then send PMs for a few days only to discover the NSer who made the WTB thread got impatient and bought it on Evo the next day.
Sell/Trade works because the majority of sales are made by NSers who randomly browse the forum and a particular item catches their eye. They're not searching with an immediate need for a specific item.
How could WTB work successfully? I've thought of using Google Alerts to notify me if a particular term showed up in a newly created thread. For instance if I wanted to sell some gear, I could set up an alert to search the WTB forum for words like "Jeronimos" "Axial" or "Splice". Then kick back and wait for somebody to make a thread asking for Jmos.
Maybe we'll have that feature built in someday, but in the meantime WTB does a decent job keeping the Sell/Trade forum from getting insanely cluttered like it used to.
