Id just cut the plastic ends off and you dont even need to bend

What kind of bindings?

Solly will bend to fit easily, Look/Rossi will if you're careful.  Tyrolia brakes are fragile, but can bent a little.  I've never bent Marker brakes, so I can't comment on them.

when you think about it that is only 6.5 mm on each side which is hardly any and there is usually already a little gap you will be fine

the plastic part is what keeps your skis from sliding down to the chair lift when not attached to your feet

not really...its helps a little, but they stop fine without them and is more out of the snow when carving...something im sure you know nothing about
