Gonna be announced early september. Available in october. Whos getting one?

I have had the same 3gs for 3 years so I'm gonna pick one up for sure. If i get another iphone on the same carrier, can i swap between my iPhone 5 and 3gs just by swapping the SIM card? I wanna use my 3gs as my party phone when i go out at night.

Anyways. This video shows that the screen will be larger and the dock connector will be different. Anyone know of anything else? I hear there was gonna be an "iPhone wallet" app.

I have an iPhone as well, but there's no denying that a rooted android device gives you significantly more control over it than a jailbroken iPhone. Because Andorid is open source and based on the linux kernel, once you have root access to a phone the source code is able to be modified by developers, allowing you complete control over every aspect of your phone.

The benefits of open source come from the developers ability to modify the source code, I never said the consumer is going to modify it directly themselves. Did you even read what I had to say?

It is going to be a 19-pin dock connector, (google images) A slightly faster processor, slightly more ram, some new gorilla glass bullshit, a smaller bezel, a larger screen, and will ship with iOS5.

All iPhones are mediocre when it comes to hardware, though, I will not be picking one up.
Hopefully some Android device, unless Apple patents screens next after patenting rounded corners and black bezels.
Also, I do hope Samsung gets their billion back though, because Apple are made up of cunts that cannot innovate, so they litigate.

I read a leak by a Chinese site that seems to have stumbled on to the case of the phone, which was later revealed by American Technology News sites like Gizmodo.

The specs are rumored, but these rumors have came out of some very interesting projection that seems entirely possible and quite conservative. These are all following Apples hardware trend in mobile devices. I am by no means an authority on such hardware, but I am also not pulling this out of my anus.

Not even close. Everything jailbroken ios cand do android can do straight out of the box. Rooted android gives you access to so much more than any ios thing.

why? jailbreaking literally takes 2 seconds. you can download "ifile" if you want to access all the root files.

Yes the android potential is there, just seems to be potential though.

I don't see why you guys are so hung up on it being open source from the get go. If any of you were smart enough to take advantage of the open source yourselves then im sure you wouldnt be so hung up on how it takes a few minutes to make the iphone open source as well.

I have no idea really what a rooted android can do. I looked at some articles though. Some features were:
- Set up a personal hotspot with android (can do that on iphone without jailbreak)
- Overclock/Optimize speed settings (Can do that on iphone with jailbreaK)
- Battery optimizer

I dunno what else, but nothing too amazing, and it all comes off as very beta/developer

but once again, im not sure.

apple just won 1 billion dollars from samsung. haha

iphone might be pricey in the states because apple may have a monopoly is samsung isnt allowed to sell for a year

to soon for this, but the week of sept. 10th has been thrown around a lot as the keynote week.


I will be picking one up as I cracked my iphone 4 after two years of use. plus I always get one w/ major hardware upgrades.

I hate Apple, after there big "win" over Samsung I hate them even more. Apparently apple has patented the whole rectangular shape phone and the "pinch" zoom shit. So now Apple basically running the smart phone game. I also read somewhere that Samsung makes apple motherboards, if thats true I wonder if that could fuck apple over???

Personally I rooted my Kindle, threw on a new OS, and can torrent music directly, side-load apps, overclock, program whatever, and dont have to worry about apple approving what I'm wanting to do.

The Iphones Hardware is also generally pretty weak.

thanks, i appreciate that. im not actually trying to argue iphone is better. i have no clue cause i dont know much about jailbreaking and am doing a correspondence course in one week right now. i was just too lazy to look it up. this is what i needed.

i just read that article.

really seems like the potential on the android is INSANE, but doesnt come across as being quite there yet. It's like NASA, tons of potential, no enough budget.

The iPhone has not much potential, but has all this shit ready to go.

But like i said, i still am quite clueless and gotta get back to the books.

I think its funny all of these people are making claims about what the next iPhone is going to be like.


we dont know shit until they announce it, be honest. Oh and we may only have to wait 12 more days. Stars seem to be aligning for an apple media event that week, and one of their historic venues was rented out for that day. so hopefully das is true.


Oh and the next phone will definitely ship w/ Ios6, that is their reason for unveiling that in june and the phone later in the year so that it is ready to go.

yea them shipping without ios 6 would be way silly. ios is one of their big selling points and id be hard for them to sell it if they said "so we're going to show you this sick os, but now you have to wait a month for it" so i think its safe to say it will ship with ios 6

I mean, it really doesn't matter. Either way you look at it, iOS is shit. The iphone itself is a very good product, solid build, great screen, fast, etc. But, iOS holds it back. Sure, you can jail break it, but you're still limited. ICS and JB (android 4.0 and 4.1) are fucking awesome. With a rooted droid phone (i have the galaxy nexus) i can literally do anything i want and its very easy. I dunno, i love my apple computers (even though their OS is getting worse too) but ive never liked iphones.
