i'd say steamboat all the way for a first trip, but really its hard to go wrong.
steamboat just seems so reliable. further north so smaller crowds, snow will be great earlier and later in the season than further south. and a great variety of terrain. great family town, really genuine.
its perfect for my family because, you know, I SKI THE BLACK DIAMONDS!!!!! but my dad likes to just cruise on the greens and blues. and at steamboat he can feel ballsy on the blue-blacks like longhorn and stuff. though hes so content lapping sunshine for days.
oh and eat at the Egg and I for breakfast at least once. shit is so prime
