one of my friends who moved out to colorado this year is running a 4:50 mile in boulder so if he came back to ny he could be at a low 4.

haha altitude will not make even close to that much of a difference, especially at that level.



On another note, fellow NSer Erik van Ingen ran a 3:38 1500 the other day, which converts to a 3:55 full mile. Damn. I was impressed when he first broke, but now he's flying.

I never raced the mile once I got to college, not to mention 15:48 really isn't that fast. If anybody's times don't match up it is your mile time and your 5k time.

now this is going to sound reallllly creepy, but did you run at the hamline elite meet? and did you run at the state xc meet at st olaf last fall? if so you sat a few seats ahead of me there /no creeper intended your dreadlocks make you really easy to recognize

ran the spartan race (8.6 mile) and lost one of my shoes in a big mud hole about 5 mins into the race. Ran the rest of the race with no shoes on, through a dern mountain. my feet where all cut up and shit. finished 2nd in my heat , and then this chick wanted to interview me for some tv thing. /claim

Oh I guess I was under the assumption it was on a track, because xc personal bests don't really mean anything, since every course is different. For all we know any course could be net downhill. I'm sure it wasn't though.

with these kind of times im guessing you run D1?

On a side note, im hoping to qualify for state tomorrow, im in at 4:30.7 and neeed a 4:30.4 to make it, hoping for a 4:26 or so though cause its gonna be a quick race!

I'm from Quebec so i'm running in the canadian interuniversity circuit. The level of that circuit has been increasing a lot in the past few years and there are a couple of guys that could run easily in D1 (I think including myself) without dominating tho. Good luck qualifying for your state champs!

Don't run anymore (aside from the odd 5 or 10k road race), so my times from Grade 10 and/or 11 track and field don't really match up to what y'all are running. More of a cross-country dude to begin with.
