Full tilt Hot Dogger Vs. Drop Kick 2013

i need to get some new boots for next season and im not sure if hot doggers or drop kick.

gonna be used for park only and not sure who fits me best.
i like the drop kick but i wonder if its possible to get a matching tongue for the boots like this years
blue hot doggers.

and ofc i appreciate all info on both boots

Drop Kicks are cheaper but idk much on FT but both will be fine. Make sure they fit your feet though

go to a bootfitter and buy the pair of boots that fit best, whether they are full tilts or not. i made the mistake of choosing a boot before i'd gone to the bootfitter. all it means is that i'm killing my feet until i can cough up enough money for a new pair.

thank you all, im sure i will find some boots that fits me, but im looking for all kinds of info of the boots as its hard to find, since they are not released yet. And also if it is tongue on the drop kick like the hot doggers, to place ur pants, i thinks thats awesome

I personally like the boots without the laced tongues, I would get the dropkicks.

Not all about looks, not about looks at all really. Listen to these other guys go to the bootfitter, if they happen to fit (Drop kick and hot diggitys have identical shells) get the tammys, the liner is a ton more comfortable, and they look dope as hell.

they full tilt boots all pretty much fit about the same (except influence and besides the liners) but next years i believe the top box is a little bigger on the twalls, and seths, and the bottoms has a replacable toe piece and heal peice which i dont think the drop kicks have

also a HUGE HUGE HUGE thing is the liner, i had fts with the crappier lines = hated them then i got a boot with a pro liner it makes it atun better

also the drop kicks are really flexy, personally i dont like them as flexy seeing how my twalls are almost too flexible IMO and dont offer enough support

thats about all i know, so personally id get the Hot Dogger, it looks like crap but its a better boot IMO


also, to be frank, this is a stupid question, get a boot properly fitted, i know i am next time

honestly i bought full tilts based on the feel of good arch support, ankle and tongue flex, warm liners, and because i got a deal on them. Twall made them popular, but he backs the product, and if they gave him terrible shinbang or were uncomfortable i guarentee based on his love of skiing, he would not ride them, there my $0.02

Get the dropkicks. Better price for pretty much the same boot apart from the design. And the hotdoggers are ugly

he'll have a custom boot that is perfectly made for his foot. I'm not saying they're not a good boot, it they fit they're great but the added features of the full tilts mean shit when yo can't feel your foot at the end of the day because it's cramped of pinching.

Wrong.

the hot doggers have a liner that is worth about 100 dollars more, which evens out the price. and the fact that hot diggitys resell value is much more.

get fitted--->if they fit get the hot doggers.

The liner is why the Hotdogger is more expensive then the Dropkicks. Dont go based off colour since 3/4 of your boot is covered by your pants. The new shells in the Hotdogger's are coming with the rubber sole. If you have enough money for the Hotdogger's and they fit you properly then buy them.

hot dogger is the only boot that will come with the "nike tongue."

The deciding factor between hot doggers and drop kicks were the flex.  Drop kicks have a 4 flex while hot doggers have a 6.  This might of changed for the 2013 line though....

no the dropkick does not have a cable cover like that for next year. honestly though, i have dropkicks and that cable cover with the laces is complete crap and just messes with the cables. it actually can make them slip out of the ribs on the tongue and screw up the flex. I'd say if you have the dough, buy the hot doggers and sell the cable covers on here for 10 bucks. save the trouble and get the better boot. (assuming they fit.)

Hopefully this clears a few things up in this thread.

Op go get fitted, you may fit a FT you may not.

Full tilt boots have zero arch support so you will need a footbed with any of them. This will change the fit though so try the boots with your footbeds.

FT boots do not all have the same liner. Its always best to go for there pro liner, but you could always change any of there liners for a proper intuition liner.

Personally I would not look at either of those boots due to the plastic buckles. Look at the metal buckle boots instead, and dont worry that their not aimed at park.

I would also look at the bootrs with replaceable heel and toes. It will extend the life of your boots alot, and saves you having to wear cat tracks every time you don't have your skis on.


Overall though go get fitted, who knows you may not even fit in a full tilt which will make this whole thread pointless.

It did i have researched them and basically the boots are exactly the same. Rubber sole and everything i think the liner and cable cover is the only difference

drop kicks are much lighter and easier to get around on rails and jumps. hot doggers are a bit sturdier and tom wallisches name sorta raises the price
