I've never maintained skis myself before. Can anyone give me any usefull information as to what tools I will need, whether or not I should even do it, or just take them to a shop, proper techniques...anything along these lines. Just thought it would be cool to learn to maintain them on my own. I want to sharpen up all my edges, and de-tune lightly under the boot for rails. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

take coarse sandpaper (belt sander belts work great) and angle and round off the edges in between your bindings. for park, alot of people like to detune their whole edges a LITTLE. but dont use anything mechanical, cause if the edges get too hot, it will fuck the bond with the edge tabs and the epoxy, and they will pull out. i have to go right now, but im me and ill give you a full overview on how to maintain your skis, bases, edges ect.
