I need help, quick.

I applied for a skiing school witch is pretty serious, where we have normal classes but we ski a shit-ton. Norways best hill is the schoolyard. And on monday are they testing us for our skills. I've been pretty anxious about it, so i've trained a bunch, and skied every day. Unfortunately this resulted in pretty immense shin - pain, so my question to you is:

tl;dr What can i do to heal my shin pain from shinbang, so i can ski and perform on monday and tuesday?

I wear SPK's, used them 2 or three seasons, never had any issues.

inb4 get fulltilts.

first off, im not a doctor so i could be wrong. i'm pretty sure shingbang is only bruising, so skiing on it wont lead to anything worse. i would just ice it a lot and take some advil before you have to do your thing

^^maxi pads are also said to be a great temporary cure, put them with the sticky side against your liner :)

i see everyone say ice it but also heat! you need to get the blood in the area moving again. ice it for now, but come sunday put heat pads on it. especially shortly before you go in for your test. this will help you warm up (no pun intended, it actually will)

you should use voltaren gel.. I know its not available in the states but I think that you can get it in Norway.. it's basically topical ibuprofen and it is great for shin bag...

as for the future with this issue.. you mentioned that you are using SPK's which you've had for a few years. Well I'll just say this.. if you ski often (which it sounds like you do) then it's probably time for a new pair of boots. I had spk's back in 07 or so and they packed out after just a few weeks of skiing... I have fulltilts now and I know everyone really loves full tilts but I can't say I'd recommend them.. they are only perfect now after having a lot of work done by a boot fitter. But you should really look into some boots that aren't spk's.. just try things on... and try not to land in the backseat/ski in the backseat.. because that is the leading cause of shin bang! good luck dude!

Alright, so to fix my shinbang issues, im going to


Ice my legs
use ibux gel (pain pills in gel form) and rub where im sore
chill in my hot tub
warm my legs with heat pads sunday night before i need to perform
and ski with menstruation pads on my legs



think im good? thanks people
