Wanna Help Catch America's Dumbest Ski Thief?

Early AM last wed...over $10,000 worth of CUSTOM ONE-OF-A KIND SKIS and RARE JCBC Jackets (2) were STOLEN from one of our vehicles parked in front of the VIICE ski factory in Midvale, UT while Scotty slept on a couch after busting his ass working to build skis until 2:30 in the am just 4 feet away.

I am new to the discussions...but I heard through the grapevine that this was the one of the best places to get eyes looking out for your gear...especially when it is custom ONE-OF-A-KIND RARE shit!

Attached are some pics of the one-of-a-kind skis that were stolen from one of our vehicles in front of the VIICE factory here in SLC (Midvale), UT. I do not have the details on the soft goods stolen other than they were 2 very rare red JCBC (Extremely high-end Rossignol brand ) red Jackets, and a black matte POC full face helmet & goggle system, as well as the 4 pairs of custom-built VIICE skis with the Vist bindings.

3 pairs were of the "La Nina" NOAA weather pattern "The Goods"- blizzard hitting the Wasatch front - top sheet graphic- super custom...only 3 in the world. 2 pairs of 177's and a 197. One of the 177's has a red VIICE custom base (mine), while the others are black. On the 197's the VIST bindings are orange.

The 4th pair stolen (also 177's) were the "Ghool" graphic topsheet. Black and white skull tattoo graphic with a black VIICE base. I don't have a pic - but you can see them in the FOX news story as well as on the www.viiceskis.com website.

Snowbird Public Safety informed me about ski trafficking to Vegas and California and surrounding states (and visa-versa). Any extra assistance would be great.These are one-of-a kind custom skis-if you see them - they are stolen!

Thank you for your help - please pass this around. I want to catch these assholes and since these are custom skis...it may be possible. Good luck finding them. Some advice though, might not want to keep thousands of dollars worth of gear in a shitty old Subaru. Just sayin'.

Oh they will be found, reminds me of when some shmuck stole a pair of afterbangs from a demo before they were released to the public then had the nerve to try and sell them on here. Fucking ski thieves, how dumb can you be?

Yeah...leaving itinthe car - not ideal situation - but he had been working 4 days straight- running on no sleep - not thinking straight. We were supposed to ski that morning it is finally snowing here in UT. Lame. They will be found. Thanks for the extra eyes.

the dumbest ski thief in america is probably one that gets caught on the spot.

of course a shitty situation but its not like the british crown jewels. they might be able to sell it to some uninformed private person pretty easily.

if they are dumb enough to sell it on here, then there is a good chance that someone will realize it. but apart from that probably a lost cause.

hoping everything works out though.

My advice would be to check every selling website (like Craigslist) every day for the next few weeks. This is kind of herpaderp advice though, I'm sure you're already doing this

Also, send pictures of those skis to every imaginable ski shop within reasonable driving range ASAP, because the thief is going to have to get bindings mounted on those skis at some point soon. Offer a reward.
Finally, if you are really ambitious/ have a lot of friends who ski at a lot of places, make flyers with the pictures that you posted of the skis offering a reward. Hang them up in as many lodges as possible, and hand fliers to the lifties. Put a bounty of a couple hundred bucks on the skis. If the thief skis local, or sold to somebody local, those skis are going to have to go through a lift line. I know that if I was a liftie, I would be looking for ways to pass the time; fighting crime, bounty hunting (albeit for skis), and a cash reward would be a welcome change of pace.

Notifying ski shops is key. They will be the ones mounting the skis, so they have the best access to the people stealing em

 I appreciate all of the advice. It is all taken to heart. For me it is hard to see a small family biz get hit hard in a struggling ski ecomomy. I am working on a reward as we speak...detals soon. At this point it is really about getting these guys caught - so they dont strike again. The skis do have bindings on them - VIST - high - end Italian brand. But that is not to say they could be parted out. They will surface eventually. Even if they are tossed in a dumpster here in SLC, I am pretty sure they will either get turned in or wind up on KSL.com. or Craigslist. Would be nice tho if they would just wind up at the back door of the warehouse...but that is just wishful thinking!

making this thread was a good idea.   im sure it will help find these morons.

just keep bumping it and checking sales online.              eventually these skiis will be spotted,   just have to hope you spot them before they get sold around to a bunch of different people.

remake this same thread on TGR if you havent already
