Drugs...oh I am cool

OK, so i have read a bunch of messages on here today and it seems like 90% of them have some kid talking about how cool he is cause he does drugs. I have no problem with people doing drugs, but this isnt the high times webpage or something. Why do some of you feel the need to talk about how many drugs you do, do you have an insecurity and have to feel like a bad ass by talking about it. I am straightedge, 22 years old never done a drug or drank in my life but I dont go on here preaching to any of you about it. I am sick of reading subjects that start as one thing and turn into some moron talking about how blazed he was while doing such and such.

Any responses?

does it really matter how much of something you need to overdose? you shouldnt even be touching something that has the possibility of that!

Don't try to tell anyone that they are brainwashed by TV or their parents when they say drugs are bad. I know firsthand about it. I used to burn. Yeah, me. Until it started fucking up my relationships, and I started being an asshole, and my friends were fading away. Instead, i just had these friends that just wanted a fix from me for free everynow and again. Another friend of mine, has become the most out of touch person since he started drugs. Maybe thats why i don't do drugs anymore... Cause they do ruin peoples lives, yes even WEED.

Anbd Andy had a good point before. The rules of the server clearly state no drug discussions and whatnot. You are lucky that he's very lenient, because he could have easily booted you already.

hahahaha well then i guess you shouldnt be drinking caffenine either, 2 tons of straigh caffenine can kill you! or advil you better not use that either you can overdose on that too. You can not overdose on weed, there has not been one recorded death of a weed overdose. It was just funny you said that

personal, i don't post much stuff on any of the fourms but i do reead all the new threads everyday when i'm bord on-line... Some of the stuff is interesting and funny and other stuff it really stupid or pointless. I've been clean form chemicals for almost a year and i haven't smoked weed after about 1 1/2 ( and i know most of you don't even care) but anyways... I used to do alot of drugs myself because it was the lifestyle of my family at the time. It wasn't something i did because i thought i was 'cool' and i didn't talk about it with my freinds much or anything. But because of drugs i did end up in many unfortunate situations and so did my 24 year old brother and 20 year old sister.

I don't care if people talk about their 'fun times' on the weekend or what kinda of E they rolled or what kind of hospital drungs ( most of the drungs on the streets today were developed for medical perposes and some still used today in different doseages) What i do care about if the fact that people try to make it other peoples busness.... like every tag at the end of whatever post has to do with drugs, and the stupid pictures or the ' oh man me and my freinds got soo fucked up on thing blah blah blah and i saw trolls and bright flowers' and shit.... thats just stupid.... thats called ' i'm TRYING to LOOK and SOUND cool' or don't know how to handle their drugs....

anyways i'm not giving props to those who do drugs becaus ei personaly know now what they can and can't do for you.... and i'm not saying that being stright edge ( as i am now besides beer) is the best way to go either...

anyways this was pointless...

yeah, drink 10 or 15 cups of cofie, you'll get heart palpatations and probaly have a heart attack. oh and by the way, your right, you havent reaserched drugs so you wouldent know that weed dosent kill brain cells, drinking does. and we're not talking about heroin or somthing here...

it's not my fault some people cant handle some drugs, other people can , if you can't then dont do them. and i dont think i'v heard anyone talk about E on this board, and i realy dont think there's drug content in the majority of posts.

i agree totally w/ mistychick that drugs do kill~~i know plenty of kids that just decided to smoke up once and then before u know it they smoke everyday and are lookin for new ways to get high= ecstacy, cocaine, and meth...and u cant deny that those can kill u if u use them too much but then again skiing can kill u too so u just have to be careful in what u do

the only way weed can be percived as a gateway drug is because of the fact that it IS illigal. people figure if the goverment can be wrong about one drug, then they could be about others. anyway, there's such a small percentage of people who do move on anyway, i mean just about every kid in my school smoke weed, but only a couple have done coccane or heroin.

well when i wa stalking about E i was just talking in general...like i think that non-drug users should also take into account that
tera-hydro-cannibanol ( THC (which is a chemical that blocks and opens certain receptor sites in your brain) is prescribed to people with many manty conditions not even to mention that people are allow to smoke weed for certian manisipul perposes because it is shown to BE effective when used.....
and just for all of our horse loving girls on the site ( I love horses too!)... Ketamine is also used in our beloved horses when they become very lame.... it is also used in the army when people get hurt... Also Bayers ( is a MASSIVE company that makes alot of the tylenol's that are on the market) developed heroin.... like all this stuff came form some where!!

then again drugs destoryed my lif eat one point but i guess it is still good to be informed!!!

all true...actualy, weed has tons of uses, i just read a book called hemp for health. when weed was illigalized it was a major ingredient in 50% of all prescription drugs, and if it was legalized today, it could replace 25% of them

really people only have talked about weed, shrooms and maybe acid i havent heard anything else. I think lots of the posts about what people did on the weekend and stories about parties and stuff are really funny. If you dont want to read about it then once you see it is about drugs click back on your browser and ignore it. I know people that have fucked their lives up from rugs but if you have control and do it in moderation i dont think it is that bad.

I know a lot about drugs and its affects...no I dont do it but my girlfriend works in drug counsiling and one of my best friends also went through rehab several times before he became clean. Weed does kill brain cells no matter what you think, anything that lowers the amount of oxygen your brain recieves will kill them. There are plenty of side effects of it. I started this thread but notice I didnt say that drugs were horrible...I said i am sick of hearing about your drug use. Thats my opinion, if you can state your opinion, I sure as hell will state mine.

As for me being scared to do drugs, it takes a lot more courage to not do them. So many weak people do drugs that it proves its easy enough to do.

actualy, no. weed does not kill brain cells, the THC is absorbed by the THC receptors, there is no brain cell killing involved. and on the subject of weed depriving your brain of oxygen, that is just the oppisite of what happens. marijuana dialates the avioli (sacs that absorb oxygen in your lungs), causing your blood oxygen level to rise and getting MORE oxygen to your brain. this is why when you first smoke weed your heart rate increases, and this is also why people suffering from athsma attacks can stop them by consuming THC.

yea, put doesn't kill your brain cells dude. what it does do though is puts a thin gel like thing (don't know what it is exactly). it goes away shortly after smoking, and it's this coating that makes you feel kinda dumb the day after you smoke a lot of pot...

i think i read somewhere that research has found out that smoking pot a lot while you are still growing and shit it will make you less intelligent when you grow up... but whatever - we need someone to pick up our garbage.

the gel thing is the layer of THC, and it's just over the THC receptors. and there's been a lot of studys done, most of which came out with favorable results for marijuana, and most of which were supressed by the goverment. go to the library and get the book 'The emporer wears no clothes', all fact.

HAHAHA, I like how you took a qoute about bands from '88. But to me it seems that the few edge kids on this board are far less opinionated than those who do drugs and stuff. Did you used to be edge? If you were and broke it I have no respect for you not because you broke it but cause you seem to be coming down on it. I still am friends with a lot of kids who broke their edge but they are cool with it and simply decided it wasnt for them and they NEVER talk about how negative it is. If you never were then I am impressed that you know something about it. But if you know anything about edge or hardcore you should know it is generally a positive thing, hardcore has done as much for my life as skiing and that is saying a lot.

OH, use a better site than www.straightedge.com next time, there are much better places to read up on the scene than that.

dspin has a point on the caffine thing, it can kill you. people do a lot of worse things to their bodies than smoke weed. i think ski2824 or whatever has done his research and knows what he's talking about.

i have friends who smoke and friends who dont and im cool with all of them. im fine with people voicing their opinion on both side of the topic, a good debate is always fun, but i think that you should try both sides before you debate it. i forget who said it but he said somthing like how do u know if u dont like it if u havent tried it.

now im not saying weed is good for you, but neither is candy or soda. and many people still eat candy and drink soda. and as for people doing it to be cool, legalazation would help to solve that. in holland, where it is legal, after a slight increase which lasted about a month, marijuana use went down a lot.

They meant sleep around not in a relationship...god that would suck, imagine dating a girl for years and never getting laid, you would need serious drugs if that were true. Plus I am not vegan, hell I am as far from vegi as you can get.
