To upgrade, or not to upgrade...

Hey guys, need a little help with my decisions. I'm trying to figure out if its logical to upgrade my camera from a T2i to a 60D.
Here is my current setup:
t2i, gripped w/ 3 batteries
17-40mm f/4L
50mm 1.8
70-200mm f/2.8L
also have tripod (701hdv + 055x legs), a glidecam 2000 pro, and an indislider

So, heres the thing. I'm stuck between filming and photography. I'd say I enjoy photography more, but I get more gigs with filming (its 'paying the bills' right now). Not saying i dont enjoy filming, i actually love doing both, i just like hate editing, and pics dont take nearly as much time.

I have read (and watched many reviews) that have said that the video output of the T2i and 60D are identical. But, the image quality on the 60D is superior(how much better?). My friend has the 60D, and i love the build, feels so much better in ur hands. Also, the 5 or so frames p/s burst would be very nice. I also realy like the sound the shutter makes, makes me feel pro. just kidding. so ya, would it be worth the money to upgrade?

Here's my plan if i do upgrade:
sell T2i for $600 (is this right? looks like it goes for 500 used on ebay with nothing, i have grip, batteries, cards, its in excellent condition..... am i way off?)
sell 17-40mm for whatever (i hate f/4, think its going for 600 on ebay, got if for 450 :) and its 2 years old.)
Buy tokina 17-50 f/2.8 for about $350 used
^that would give me about $200, plus $600 or so for the T2i = $800, which is the price of a 60D on the Canon refurbished website.
my only other thought is wait for a possible release of a 7D mk II (canon rumors), which makes the first one cheaper and buy that, but im not sure thats even happening

sooo should i upgrade? thank you in advance for your input

sparknotes: upgrade my T2i to a 60D?

I don't think there is any difference between the 60d and t2i for video. If you want to upgrade for pictures, thats a different story, but like you said, 7dm2 could be coming out soon so you might as well wait.

shit i hate waiting haha. ya the only reason for the upgrade is for picture quality and capability. gonna go do some more research on a new 7D. thanks for your input

would not go with a 7d for pictures, i heard it has several issues, and for video, its worse than the t2i/60d (both with magic lantern are much better)

wow really? ya i would definitely miss ML.
have u guys looked at canon rumors at all? apparently there's new info about 2 different 5d's coming out this year, one for video (4k RAW video, 22mp) the other for photo (45mp holy smokes). this is some crazy stuff.
think ill wait at least a month as it seems like stuff will be released within February, it'll be nice to have more options

Unless you're taking a picture thats going to be plastered onto like the side of a cruise ship, then this is not going to be necessary at all...

your glass is being wasted on an APS-C sensor... If i were you id save up for the next 6 months and get a 5d mk ii for like $1700 after they drop the mark iii

he said he was gonna sell his 17-40 for a 17-50... i dont get why the 50 and the 70-200 are a waste on a crop...

Nice glass works just as well on an APS-C sensor at the level that most people around here need.

ya ive done a bunch of reading on the 17-40mm now, after i bought it. i was browsing thru craigslist and saw it for 475 and was like holy shit im just gonna jump on this. now that ive done some reading i realize its not for me, but at least i wont lose money on it. the f/4 is awful for anything indoors, so its gonna be on its way out. but i love the 50mm. i just got the 70-200 last week, the thing is absolutely incredible. wish we had some frickin snow around here so i could really use it, PA sucks.

crazy how many offers ive gotten on the t2i

Definitley wait for the new line. There probably won't be any update on the codec yet :(. The new cameras are going to have the new cmos V chip which I have heard some people think will fix the moire problems. As for 4k on a dslr.. I really don't see that happen. Canon wouldn't put out a camera that has higher resolution than their recently released c300. I may be wrong on that, but why would they make their stills camera, better than then their professional video solution?

Unless you really have solid enough reasons to upgrade, I would not. Maybe put together a lists of plus and minuses. If you feel it worth it, go for it. I think you should wait until the new line of cameras. The t4i and 7dii should be good!
