i tried to do one off the ground like a year ago but i landed on the back of my neck everyone flipped out but it wasnt bad right now i think i could do one off the ground becanse i can over rotate off of a pool deck im just scared to

Backflips as a beginning freestyler are all that I thought about, and all my friends and I thought they were the coolest things. Then we realized that they are incredibly easy, and look pretty gay. They are a good base trick to learn other stuff off of though.

haha beaver mountains park sucks realy bad, but one time i was doing backflips, and i caught my tips, because the jump wasnt really big enough, but i felt like trying anyways and my tips stuck in the snow it was pretty funny....

Problem with the mental block is when you actually get over it and try it, you tend to just huck yourself backwards wildly, which gets you nowhere.

You got to think it though and then stomp it clean- boost fucking UP, get a good pop, then kick your legs over the top and get mad rotation. boioioioioing

i used to be able to do them on the tramp until i did one and my foot jamped between teh springs and i fell off teh trampoline backwards and smacked my head on teh ground...now i just pussy out even trying into water..i guess it is teh mental block

i did one on a trampoline and i landed sitting on the edge i thought i broke my femur but i didnt then i tried it again a couple days later and i did the same thing i just got over the mental block and its been like a year

we moved a trampoline near my friends house to jump off the roof (sunporch area) and when they were up there i did a backflip. they said do more cuz it looked weird. i did a back to front and went too far forward and my feet went through the doorway. good thing it was open. also we took the trucks off a skateboard. i tried a no grab backflip but it ended up hitting me in the back. if you mess up, you have to try again that moment so you know you can do it.

on tramps i have truly masterd the backflips, i can litterally do them as easily as 360s. and ill try them on flat ground but i always have to put my arms out under because i think im gunna break my neck, but i accutally stomped one flat ground backflip last summer, and the wierd thing is that it was just in my house on a hard wook floor.

i've been able to do them on flat ground for a while...you're not supposed to look back, you're supposed to spot something straight ahead of you and look at it for as long as you can and reach up with your hands when you swing...not back

I can do them off flat ground and land on the front of my toes. I just need to try it more.
The height and rotation is easy to get, just I have to throw my knees more.

i did one last season. They're really not that bad. As long as you commit your fine. Off the ground, i can do them but i always land on my knees.

my friend can barely do a grab over a table, but he's pretty good at straight airing over big tables. anyway, he practiced it on the tramp hundreds of times and one day tried it over a 35 foot table and landed it clean. he cant even 180 or 360.

i fucked up my next trying a double on a tramp, so that put a mental block on me for a while. but last season, we built this huge-ass booter in whistler on a big pow day, and i was throwin some spins and shit and just said 'fuck it, i'm going for it.' Cruised at the jump, popped off the lip, and threw it just like I would on a trampoline, and landed. landed my first attempt. i was so stoked, i kept going bigger and bigger, then a couple tries later i could lay them out kinda like seth (but not off 50 ft. cliffs like him). fun trick, opens up lots of possibilities. just learn to lay them out and it's fun as hell.
