Ski Racks and Rockered Skis

If there is a thread on this already, kindly direct me there. If not, what is the best way to carry rockered skis on my car? For the most part, they will be the only skis in the rack. Bindings up? Bindings down? Thanks!

I have a Yakima rack on my STI and carry my Bent Chetlers with the bindings facing the roof. Works fine for me.

im jealous dude i want an sti i have an 07 mitsubishi eclipse lol not the best for getting places but we got a good deal on it. I need AWD though i always gotta car pull when it snows lol

Ya, shes a hog in the snow, switching my tires to my winter ones this Friday. Thing is unstoppable. I'll post a pic come this weekend.

Too bad there's been NO snow in Jersey to enjoy as of it, and doesn't look like much is on the way either.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I just picked up a Yakima rack for my Benz. At long last I no longer have to stuff my LL2's inside my car.

The rocker on skis is made thru the same process as camber, so a few hours on a ski rack with the skis together, as in brakes locked together, should be fine. But I carry mine bindings down towards the roof if its just me.

I have racks but I still put my skis in my car if Im driving long distances (Like NYC to Vermont). Ive noticed that the bottom of the tips get sandblasted and kind of fucked up when driving.

I usually put my skis bindings towards car, rockered and reg camber. I don't think it makes much of a difference, the drag is pretty bad no matter what.

i would definitely put bindings towards the roof, but your bases might get a bit fucked up from all the dirt and water on the roads coming in contact with your ski. get a roofbox imo they look gay and cause more drag but they'll keep your skis nice.
