Just wondering if anyone has played with mounting the binding back 1 or 2 cm's. Just got the 184's and am going to mount them this weekend.
Anyone have any thoughts

Just mount them midsole which is 2cm from True Center.

Actually the midsole is -2.5 on the bacons. But I'd leave it there. I'm mounted at midsole and after alot of riding them I almost wish I had mounted them at -1 of dead center. I find myself feeling a bit back at times when I'm really moving. The skis are super sick and turn on a dime don't get me wrong. All I'm saying is that if your considering mounting back of midsole it's probably not neccassary.

The 1 cm wouldnt do much. I think it has more to do with that you have the 178.

Nope. 184s now. Traded with my buddy who's shorter and was havin trouble spinning on the longer ones. Ironically I got so used to my opus' that the 178s actually started to feel a touch short at speed. Identical setups though. Same size boots, mounted at midsole with jester pros. It's weird because the opus midsole mark is -2 of center and feels perfect. I wouldn't change that at all. The bacons at -2.5 though make me notice that I have to consciously lean forward at speed. It's slight and not a big deal at all. It's just not perfection ya know? I personally like a mount that has a natural stance feel to it. I don't want to be thinking about my position if that makes sense. Pretty sure that moving the mount forward by 1.5 making it -1 from dead center would be the sweet spot for me. It's all preference. I was simply pointing out to the OP that at midsole they do have that all mountain mount feel of say a -3or-4 and doesn't feel as close to center as a normal -2.5 would.

i mounted mine at recommended and love it. it feels like true center and i dont feel back at all. it even looks like its mounted at true center. I'd say just go with the midsole, and if you dont like it you can always get them remounted

Yeah I doubt it would be so noticeable to me if I didn't have the opus and like I said its slight. I really only notice it when I'm really cookin or on landing something big. It's not enough to make me feel out of control or anything like that. It's just that I have to consciously remember to lean a little forward in some instances. I'm just really big on not having to be conscious of stance. IMO that should be totally natural and the last thing you have to think about ya know? Kinda the same way that on a center mount you have to lean back a little in pow kinda thing. It's whatever. I still love the bacons. Blows me away how quick and easily you can throw them around.
