Hey guys first post on new schoolers. My name is Chris. I'm 19 and im skiing on the east coast(tri state area and pennsylvania). I'm 5'10 and about 230 and I would say im an intermediate. Ive never skied on anything but rental gear. My price range is really as low as possible but at most maybe $300. So far i have been looking at dynastar superpipes, coreupt tj schiller, coreupt candide yards and 04 Dynastar trouble makers(craigslist deal only $125 with bindings). Im looking for something that I can use in the park but also be able to ski the rest of the mountain with my friends.
Sorry forgot to add this. I don't know what size to get. Ive had two different local shops tell me 186 range and then 159 range. Any help?
Honestly, if you don't have to spend under 300 go for a little more expensive. From expirience, I thought the same as you did, and my season was terrible cause my gear was crappy. A suggestion I would say is to look under sell/trade forum. Some people are selling good skis with bindings for around your price range. Bindings are key, because last year I broke mine a ton. Buy a good pair that will last you multiple years, that way you save money by not needing repairs often. Hope this helps!
I would put you right around 180 for length, considering the fact that you aren't a small guy. As far as the actual ski goes, you have many options. Most companies make a park ski that would suit your needs just fine. If I were in your position I would look for K2's from a few years ago. Something like the K2 Extreme would suit you perfectly. Another option would be Line Chronics from a few years ago. Hope I could help, and welcome to NS!
bitches love coke. coked out bitches love dick. i have a dick and love bitches. Seems like a pretty solid idea to me!- californiagrown
Well Its not just that its cheap gear its all closeout or used stuff, but i understand what your saying. What kind of bindings are recommended for someone my size?
