also, it is not your computer's speed that is being tested, it is only your internet connection speed. this test is supposed to even it out that way although it is impossible to be 100% like that

usually the limiting factor when you download somthing, assuming you have high speed internet (although this isnt nessisairly true with DSL) is the speed the server can send you info. if the server is buisy then it is slower...

I resgister at 2.4mbps from that test and I'm on a B band router, and my G band runs about 5 times faster, so... my speed at university is about 10. Does it screw up the test if i'm downloading 8 other things as I do it? Because I was.
