MHSSC 2011 Thread

There has been plenty of individual MHSSC threads already. So since there is (as of right now) no MHSSC section of the camp thread section, Im making this.

Post MHSSC Session #s. Meet other campers before camp. Also, ask any questions you have about MHSSC, there are plenty of former campers on here.

how much cheapers is MHSSC compared to windells? was at windells last year for the session 3 and it was almost 2 grand

very cheap compared to any camp, only reason why sess 5 is 1500 IS because of so many people going, they increase their price on how much staff they need

Hey guys, still ALOT of snow up here. We have been setting up every feature we have.
The park is 4 initial tiers with down rails, flat rail, boxs, u box, c box, rainbow etc.. 3 jump line on the right that goes 10, 15, 20. And a larger jump line on the left that goes 45, 55, 65. And public park has 9 jumps just below our park. So looks like you guys are going to have a sick week. I will be making a session 4 edit so look out for it in the next few days.

UPDATE!

Park is fucking money right now, they have all the features up right now and two seperate jump lines. the big jumps are so smooth it is rediculous, there iws also a ton of fucking snow out here.

get out to hood ASAP.

Hey, Definitely planning on hitting a session for sure.

So, the Adult only session is $1175. From Aug 28th to Sept 3rd.

The Fall price is $625 for a session about 5 weeks later.

Question is...Would i benefit more from going to the Adult only session instead of holding out and saving some cash and going got a fall session? Why are they cheaper? Less day non ski related activites? Less coach's around?

I'm a definite new schooler and and sure i'll learn massively either option and would love some input since this seems like the perfect thread.

Hey Lee. Definitely dont go to the adult only session. Thats mostly older skiers. Try and go within the next 3 weeks. Last week through the next 3 are the most popular for new school skiers.

Mostly older skiers? I'm 29. That old? I hope not, just had a birthday last week and had the "Your getting on abit now aint ya?" comment. Told em all, Bollocks and showed them a video of me learning flips and shit on a trampoline. Had my first aerial lesson at House of Air in SF last week. So so hooked! Age aint shit. Ha!

Honestly i dont really care who i'm there with regarding the session, I'm there to learn as much as possible, and to enjoy the stuff i've learned on the mountain with my mates. As much as its an activity week and a fun vacation, its all about the ski'ing really.

Going there in the next 3 weeks isnt an option right now. I think regardless of what week i go i'll push myself to learn as much as dam near possible, so the cost of the session is the next factor. Am i really going to benefit from spending the extra $$$?

I would go adult only. The fall session is in October which means not much snow since it's still in the gap between leftover snow and first winter storms, but it's late enough that the weather can get miserable up there. Cold, windy, snow and rain storms. The extra money is worth it. And you'll still have decent public park with full size jumps and rails to use. So I would say you would benefit from spending the extra dough.

I never really considered the quality of the snow as a factor. Obviously is now. Swaying more towards the adult sesh. So looking forward to gettin my teeth stuck into learning shit. Being inverted is a unique and addicting feeling. Thank god for Google, Wiki and Youtube for helping me out with figure'd out the names and shit. I'd definitly be one of those "Can you do a backflip? Wow, you must be a pro" kinda deal. I know nuttin!!

Are their less coaches in the fall? It can't only be the snow that makes it cheaper.

If the world had more people like me in it, i'd hate me. Ha. Thanks tho.

So even though you booked the adult session you can still switch the exact week. I would at least suggest go a week or two before that absolutly when I said older I mean oldderrr. Like 30-60 with probably no other freestyle skiers. To have a normal coach you should go a couple sessions before the adult session. And to have a better park setup forsure. gnarly see you tomorrow.

I wont be switching weeks. Perfectly comfortable with the adult week. Again, not really fussed whos on the mountain with me. Would much prefer 30-60 than young kids. Besides, if a 60 year old throws down, its only gonna motivate me too. Going there to learn as much as i can, the activities on the week are a bonus but its about the tricks.
