Olympic freeskiing: who will represent their country?

Just wanna hear who you guys think will be in russia in 2014 trying to get a medal for their country.

Who will the teams be for slope (assuming it gets accepted) and pipe? Discuss.

they are saying that because he is way older than the rest of the athletes these days in our sport. Also he hasnt skied in 2 years due to injury while the others are learning new tricks and pushing the sport...
but hes a beast, and watching those videos makes me stoked for him.
however i think by then, there could be athletes competing who have yet to emerge in the ski scene yet. Cant wait to see skiing pipe shit all over snowboarding

This... Look at athletes like Lance Armstrong who retired and got back in the game a couple years later. Tanner is going to want a piece of the action and have trouble resisting the glory.

We better see some serious progression from the girls in 2 years. No offense to any girl shredders out there but straight airs and sloppy 5's aren't going to cut it when the time comes.

Props to her though. Shes pretty much one of the few that are throwing nines. I believe she did an ally-oop flatspin once. I happened to be in PC the week of the FIS world's during pipe training and I was apalled to see what the competition was like in the womens field. During practice and prelims, a lot of the girls weren't even trying anything. Just a same old straight air run with an occasional ally-oop 3. It seemed like a lot of them weren't even trying. The only girls that were standing out were either burke, hudak, segal and rosalind.

Yeah. Either way, I just like to see some progression in the next 2 years from the ladies. A few of my friends happen to be female shredders that compete in pipe (not at a pro level) as well as my sister and It would be pretty dope to see one of them make a team or something like that.

As much as i would love to see tanner back, its just not going to happen bro.

If he hit the deck hard at all he would be done. And every pipe skier hits the deck super bad at some stage.

like when simon got owned on the deck at winter X. Imagine if that was a 27 yr old who had previously two torn ACL's, two Broken Legs, two broken Ankles and hadnt skiid for the better half of 2 years.

That is like saying Michael Jordan could come back from retirement and play in the All stars team right now.

And as it is now, women pipe skiing should not be a medal event. You might have a dozen who could even get a human's height out of a bloody pipe, let alone throw solid runs. PRETTY PATHETIC
