Hey guys, as the title states im switching over, from snowboard to skis full time next season! i know i should have made the switch along time ago. I was just wondering what kinda set up you guy would suggest! i know i want my skies around the 175-181 mark. just looking for your input! Thanks!

well we would need more info.. such as what you mostly ride.. park? big bootser or rails? or both? or are you a back country guy? whatever you ride i would reccomend NOT looking into salomon.. their shit breaks.. a lot!  line and coreupt seem to be pretty durable to my understanding

Well trying to infer things from you being a snowboarder check out companies like Armada, 4frnt, Line, and Moment (don't worry square tips are fine). From there it's just kind of guesstimating what you will ride the majority of the time and alot of skis are good at a couple of things. Most park skis will rip the whole mountain fine, its just powder where you will notice the difference between snowboarding and skiing as with boarding one board would do the job but skiing you kinda want two pairs. But check out those companies, especially armada or moment, and then go from there. Also email them and stuff, always super chill.

Outerwear: Look into Oakley, Salomon, or Orage Suits.

Skis: If you prefer All Park = Line Afterbangs/On3p Blue Steele/Ninthward HHP. 50/50 Park/Moutain = Rossignol S5 Jib/Armada ARV/On3p Jeronimos. Mountain/Big Mountain = Armada JJ/Armada ANT/Rossignol S7/K2 Obsethed/Atomic BentChetler/On3p Cease and Desist.

Boots: Salomon SPK Koas?

Bindings: FKS? STH 12 or 16's? Griffons? Squires?

i know im a snowboarder but i have skied before, kinda. haha thanks for the help, i would defently ride park mostly, and some BC booters, so i was thinking like Armada JJ's for BC stuff but i want maybe like Moment Reno Rockers, or even the Jib's. Is there a ski that is like a combination of the JJ and T-Hall or Reno rocker?

Definitely get something with a soft flex, lots of sidecut, and a tapered (non symetrical shape) for your first ski, you want something thats easy to learn on. As much as t-halls, reno rockers, and JJ's are good skis, their hard skis to ski.

If I were you, I would get something like Line Masterminds, Rossi S2's, K2 silencers, ect. They will be easy to learn on for your first season then upgrade next season to a more advanced ski. Trust me on this one, I would not want to learn to ski on 185 jj's.

don't get line afterbangs if you are thinking about skiing park. The edges around the tip of the ski rip out along with a bit of base. My brother had a pair for 4 weeks and he had to send them in to get them replaced for free since they were still under warranty

Yeah, Its not my first time skiing im just switching over full time and was just wondering what kinda set ups you guys would suggest. But thank you, i totally understand where your coming from.

^I would seriously suggest getting some carving skis (as well as park skis) and spending a some time on those and taking lessons. The best way to get good at park is to learn to ski properly, be comfortable on all kinds of runs and conditions.
