Lol I went there with school like 2-3 years ago.

It's awesome.

The Space mountain is probaly one of the coolest roller coasters ever.
It has inversios + blackness= total disorientation.


(yes that soundtrack is played trough speakers in the seats.)

Can someone explain to me what exactly is going on in these and how it works? Like what exactly is tilt shit? I have been wondering this ever since I saw the whistler tilt shift video.

I'm starting to think it's a big tilt shift conspiracy. Everyone who knows shit about camera's is in on it. They just tell us it's real life when it's actually the work of this one weird guy who lives in his mothers basement making EPIC mini scene's.

If you’re curious, here’s how tilt-shift photography works. A tilt-shift lens allows the photographer very exacting control over the depth-of-field in an image, much more than any regular lens could provide. Focus can be restricted to a single, narrow band, with everything else rapidly blurring away. This distorts the appearance and makes the eye think that distances are a lot smaller than they typically are. When applied to a large scene like a city or a museum, everything appears miniature.

It’s because tilting the lens with respect to the film/sensor plane changes the perspective in the image: you can make lines that otherwise would converge, showing perspective, instead remain parallel or even diverge. It’s not just the depth of field that matters to your brain. Hence the photoshop demonstration isn’t all that effective; the perspective of the objects in the image would also have had to change.

it changes the perspective of the picture, and the DOF (that part that is in focus)

its hard to explain...

normally the light does this >|< it crosses as it goes through the lens. completely square (like in ur eye)

a tilt shift lens changes this >/< the light crosses, but now at an angle to the sensor or film. so it now has a diff perspective.

makes sense?

a normal pic is like looking straight down the hall from the middle, everything is square, the lines of the floor and ceiling lead to the door.

a tilt shift is like looking down the hall from your locker, your perspective has been changed. the floor and ceiling lines above and below you are straight. the lines on the other side of the hall are at a greater angle.
