Yes definitely learn on Trampolines first. And yes learn a backflip first and a 720 then find the happy medium.
Actually i find if i throw too hard and concentrate on a "cork" too hard it doesn't work and i end up rodeoing or some shit. I find it helps to throw your spin matched with the angle of the lip. so throw the spin on the blue lines angle, don't try to stay up and down like the red line.
from there i find it helps to not force your body to stay upright, let it float into the cork. Corks are much safer than backflips in my opinion. From there i'd say just go for it! Good Luck!
