I'll admit I probobly do talk to people way more online.
why? cuz everyone i'm surrounded by are fucking tools who have no idea and are wasting their lives. but i can go online and be surrounded and have inteligent convo's with old friends and peers who are into the same shit as me.
no but seeing how a large percentage of people use facebook, and a large percentage of people are straight retarded... it makes sense.
anyways, its just another social trend. AIM, MSN, skype, myspace, facebook, twitter... etc. just how the people use the internet to socialize.
even though i do check it, its only to see what other people are up to and honestly if it wasn't an easy way to get into touch with old friends, i could easily do without it. not to mention its very nice if you lose your numbers to use facebook to get them back.
A father in Egypt that was part of the protest over there just named his newborn daughter facebook so that everybody remembers that day in future generations... I thought i have heard some pretty bad names but i think that name beats all other bad names
well the other day I almost brought myself to delete my facebook account just because how much time it takes up in my everyday life. For some reason though I couldn't do it because it felt like committing social suicide lol this is horrible
You truthfully dont know how much better and less stressful life is without facebook until you have not used it for a few months. I deleted my facebook about a year ago... and it was hard during the first few months.... i fiended it. but after i hadn't used it for a while i just didn't care any more. I see other people on it and what they talk about and post, and it could be some of the stupidest shit ive ever seen. I'm not saying facebook isnt great for communication. It's a good thing to be able to communicate to people, especially ones you don't regularly get to see... but its clear that we have taken it a bit to far (57% people talk more online than in real life). Facebook is bad for society.
i guess its not "stress" but only the annoyance of having to know every thought on everyone's mind... you know? I don't know how facebook is now... im sure its changed a lot over a year but when i was on it the statuses, updates, being tagged in pictures, all that other shit... IMO its easier to just not be a part of it. Communicate through phone or e-mail. those are totally sufficient and they don't include all the extra stuff that comes with facebook.
