Longboard flex

I know there are a lot of longboarders on here, so I wanted to ask what the difference between flex 1, 2, and 3 is because I am thinking of ordering a Loaded Tan Tien. I weigh about 120 pounds if that helps/makes a difference.

straight from the site:
flex 1= upto 270lbs
flex 2= 130-210+lbs
flex 3= 80-170+ lbs

if your looking for a flexier board, i would go with flex 3. personally i would take flex 2 because it is stiffer so you won't bottom out as easily or at all, and it would be easier for slides and last longer if your still growing

best MARKETED board for sale, definitely not the best board. overpriced for what you get. what kind of riding are you most interested in doing? cruising around campus/ commuting, downhill, free ride, dancing etc etc?

In short Loaded is very overpriced and overhyped. Although they are decant boards, you aren't getting what you payed for. If you are looking for a board similar to a loaded, check out BC longboards. You should check out silverfishlongboarding.com Its the NS of longboarding

try bustin boards. i personally have a loaded and i absolutely love it. i have flex 2 nd im 170.

My recommendation would go towards Land Yachtz, but definitely do a little looking around before you definitely decided on a Loaded board.

The tan tien is a pretty stiff board IMO, after you break it in its nice though. I have a flex 2. and i weigh 155 and i wish it were a little flexier but its still sick. Get the Otang Stimulus if you want to slide, but they can get pretty sketchy bombing down hills, so you may want to go for a 75a wheel which would be perfect for what your doing. Also check out the landyachtz 9two5, sick board as well.

if your into carving i'd definately go with original skateboards. i have an apex 37 and its definately feeling from other longboards mainly because of they're trucks.

for one a tan is a little sort to dance on. for a dancer you pretty much need a separate board. personally i love landyachts. mostly for there free ride and downhill boards as thats what i do, im not much of a "cruiser" I got a rayne timeline i use for cruising or a neversummer norad, its fun cause its got a kicktail on the back. I got a s9 bomb hills with randals and 4presidents for downhill and a lanyachtz switch for freeride/ downhill. looking to get either the switchblade or time machine (both landyachtz)

not a fan of the loaded trucks,i like revenge trucks, theyre good on shorther boards, i find them stable at speed but carve like mad. thats what i got on my rayne timeline. if you want a fun fucking board, try a timeline on revenge trucks

unless you get the really stiff springs, original trucks are garbage. going 10 mph you can get bad speedwobble and easily wipe out, especially on the shorter boards. my friend had some on his board, went down a small hill and broke his face due to speedwobble. If your just cruisin on flat land, they are fun, but any incline, not recommended

also look into the landyactz evo. most people think its only for downhill, but if you put the right trucks, bushings, and wheels on it can be a sweet all around board. its really easy to push beacuse its low to the ground, it slides pretty well, and its one of the best downhill boards too.

OR SPUD or switch. The evo has the wegded nose and tail. So therefor not good for sliding. I had the spud as my first board. best fucking thing. This summer i pushed 72 miles around lake Tahoe for breast cancer on it.

go out and try a few boards before you buy. my first board was a loaded vanguard and i loved it to its death. i could just cruise around or dance or slide. i learned a ton on it. however i didnt really start progressing until i got into downhill and bought a drop deck similar to a rayne nemisis from a local boardbuilder.

The alex 37 deck looses it's springiness after a while and I wouldn't recommend the original trucks. If you get original trucks, get the stiffest gushing springs, I believe they are the white ones?

this man knows his stuff. im just going to slip a nice solid claim in here but if you go to their youtube page and check the its snowboarding time video, im that guy! so buy an original longboard becuase they support the snow sports industry more than you know!

dub post, sorry. the apex carbon is bomb proof and super light. i like the apex trucks since i slide a lot more than i bomb, but the thing i hate most about them is they require so much taking care of. parts are always breaking down and falling of on them. they are releasing a bushing truck this summer though

I have to original apex 37 and i hear it holds up way better. all i ever hear about is how the carbons tails and noses crack on impact too easily. but definately agreed on the maintenance. you are always cleaning thr trucks. i don't mind it tho because i love my board. don't take original trucks on high speeds btw unless with whitesprings in the trucks.

do yourself a favor and head over to www.bustinboards.com and have a look around. all their boards with the exception of the cigar* are super super fun to ride and for sure some of the most enjoyable rides out there. i personally use the spliff on a daily basis for getting around campus and it is by far the best and most versatile commuter i have been on.

*the cigar is kind of an old school ride and i wouldn't recommend it unless thats specifically what you want.

I have a spliff too^ I recently just moved the trucks in the back and put in two soft cone bushings in my trucks, which are paris's. in other words, i can pretty much U turn wherever i want too it carves so hard now. super unstable at high speeds though haha, i need to build myself a downhill deck.

i dont know what half of you are talking about, i got my loaded dervish complete with shipping for 375, including some sick 83a durians and im getting exactly what i paid for. ive got the second flex and paris 180 adam colton trucks and haven't had a sygnificant speed wobble to date when going high speeds, even when i got to the 60km/h mark. ive had it for just over 2 years and it has taken everything with no problem. the only thing i can really complain about its not a significant nose/tail to do manuals on but with lots of practice it gets easier. so overall, if you do get a loaded, get a dervish or a vanguard for what you are looking to do (preferable dervish if you want to do dancing cuz the vanguard is a little skinny for my liking)

but if your looking for a lower priced one with around the same charachteristics go for the Landyachtz drop carve
