Hey ns,
I recently purchased a 24-105 and i am quite enjoying it.
The only problem is, I dont think f4 will be low enough to shoot urban.
That is the only lens I have at the moment I will be picking up a 50mm 1.4 very soon.
But I am wondering what are your opinions?
What lens do you shoot with during urban?
Thanks guys.

You have a 60d right? I'm pretty sure with f4 and good enough lighting you could film urban. Otherwise, 50mm 1.4 or 30mm 1.4 would be good. If you have the correct lighting you'll be okay, with my hvx (which has terrible low light) i can easily film urban with the right lighting.

yea i have a 60d,
say you were to shoot somewhere with no natural lighting what so ever how many flood lights would you usually use?
I only have 2 lights at the moment just cause I bought a 60d and a 24-105 so havent had much money to buy lighting so I usually try to find spots with natural lighting witch tends to work every time I shoot urban haha.
Thanks for the help I will probably buy some lights soon.
thanks!

i've only shot urban in the daytime but it was close to flatlight so I used my trusty and cheap but nice 50mm f/1.8

When possible I prefer to have no natural lighting as it allows you to light the scene the way you'd like it without having to worry about different light temperatures being thrown around by light posts and what not. Go and pick up a few work lamps from your local hardware store; they're not pricey and they get the job done for urban. Most features you can get away with using 2 stands of lights (4 lamps), although it's always nice to have another stand.
