One of my biggest pet peeves is poor design of the bar area. I hate it when the easiest way out of the lodge means walking through the bar. The reason being is that I don't want to sense my language for the families that may so happen to be walking by at any point. I think that the bar should be an eating area for adults and that there should be other ways that are easier to access the rest of the lodge than through the bar.
I also like it when the bar is connected indoor/outdoor and I can go chill on a deck with a beer and see the slopes.
Next, there should definitely be more fire places involved.
Another thing I hate is that when there is a cafeteria style eatery, people for some reason never know where the trays are and wander around getting in the way searching for a tray. Can't it be that when you enter the area, the first thing you walk by are trays? Wouldn't that be easier?
Make sure the main entry doors don't face the direction that the most wind comes through, and if they do, make sure its a double door entry so that peoples shit doesn't get blown all over the place when people are coming in.
Bench seating is preferred on the long tables with chairs at the round tables. I hate it when lodges have chairs at the long tables and there are 5 chairs with plenty of room, but 6 of you want to sit.
That's it for now.
