Hey guys, i'm 14 and I want to get into park skiing. I raced a couple years ago.... haven't skied much since though. So, can you guys give me any tips, and point me in the right direction? Also what are some sick clothing companies and shit for me to get gear from. Thanks
Dont pussy out on shit, otherwise you'll be a fucking clown with the hottest outerwear and cant do a 360.....
If you want to ski you WILL bail. Get over it and go ski
Yea just wear what you got then look around at fd sega etc... buy what you think looks sick and not what other people wear. Practice skiing switch and such down groomers
1) Learn to slide boxes, 270 on/off boxes, learn a few easy grabs, get comfortable with three's
2) Learn to do everything mentioned above with style, it's not cool when your arms are flailing
3) Upon completion of 1&2, you can worry about the way you dress. People hate when a kid comes into the park with his jiberish tall tee and hella sagged saga pants to learn to slide a box.
People are allowed to wear what they want to wear. By no means is there a certain skill level to wear a saga jacket. People like you are why skiing is ruined, making it all judgmental and shit.
That being said to the OP, wear what you want to wear. You will soon love the look of tall clothing and want some. Get boots that fit you well, not because the way they look. Do a few runs and get the feel for skiing again, you obviously have some decent skills and knowledge if you used to race. Take it to the park just with straight airing jump and sliding boxes getting the basics then from there anything it possible. Start with some 3's maybe some 2's out. Buy a few of this years ski movies learn what is in and get inspired to ski
Cruise around, learn new tricks, meet friends, and have some fun.
being committed to tricks is everything. learn to slide boxes first, with your feet shoulder length apart and pretty much upright. learning switch skiing on the bunny hill is a good way to get into that too. if you dont like landing on a box sideways, you can skiing onto it and then turn sideways while sliding, just to get a feel for it
