Today, I was talking to a park staff member and a ski instructor at my new home resort, basically to ask them about the mountain and how good working there was. (Lakeridge is the hill, 300 feet vert, deece parks.) From what I got out of the conversation, workers:
-Get no discounts for working what so ever.
-Only full time instructors get a pass provided to them (which brings the point, when would they be able to use that pass working full time, and wouldn't they be worn out after a full week of skiing? I love to ski, and go whenever I can, but after four days straight I need a good two day break to recoop.)
-A full day pass at Lake is about 5-10$ less than a full day pass at most mountains out west.
-Pay is only meh there.
-The owner is a straight bitch from what I've heard and couldn't care less about the problems with the hill, etc. and just "expects" it to be perfectly run.
How many of your home mountains are like this, or is the owner at Lake just an extremely greedy bitch? I had almost full intentions to work there, and now I think I'm just going to pass and work somewhere else. Do your thang NS.
