hey ns! i bought afterbangs over the summer and i was soooo stoked on using them this season until the second day into preseason shreddin at my local hill, i dented my edge in one of my tips. (check my threads, its 'what should i do about this?!?!?!' complete with pics.) i thought it was no big deal until the next saturday, i looked at my skis and the edge had ripped apart from my tip. the ptex base was cracked and i was PISSED! i thought they were supposed to be bombproof! btw i dented the edge by not poppin high enough and hittin the edge of a box. the box was on a bunny hill and there was maybe 10 feet for me to gain speed, and it was slooooww snoww. ANYWAYS, i took them in to see if my local shop could do anything and they couldnt. he said the most they could do is epoxy and hope it would hold. i called line and they said it would take 3-4 weeks for a warranty claim to process with shippin included. it will be 6 WEEKS this saturday, thats 2x more time than they claimed. it should not take 6 weeks to get there, take a look at a tip, and call me or my shop back with information. the most we know so far is that they have gotten there. (they got there the 17th of december.) I am just about to give up and i have pretty much started searching for new skis already. right now, i am shredding on jr, non-center mount, 158 rossi scratch skis from 3-4 years ago. and im 5' 10". i dont have pretty much any money because i have spent it all on shippin the damn things and food at the chalets. I really dont want to give up on line, but right now, i dont know what to do. i called yesterday and they said they couldnt tell me anything. my shop said to wait until friday, and then what the hell do i do?

first off- line is one of the most legit companys there is, it is rider tested, made, and owned

second- YOU damaged your ski, you ran into a box on a bunny hill and it dented it, completely your fault not the skis

third- dear god there afterbangs, they dont last for shit

i know it sucks i had this happen to me a few years ago with another brand, if its rail damage its your fault and is not covered by warrenty, but its not enough to call the company bad

Yeah, well, consolation prize is (presumably) a secure financial future and a career. 25 years from now you'll be able to go heli skiing every winter if you play your cards right (which isn't hard).

I didn't even read the whole thing because I can't stand reading "By whatever skis I have because they're the greatest". 

I can't believe Line even warrantied them for you.  When you slide metal and wood on a rail, and smash it into a steel rail, what do you expect?  Edges dent.  nothing can prevent it.  If you don't want to damage a ski, don't hit rails.  I'll admit, some skis are more durable than others, but most edges dent if you smack them on a rail.

I didn't read any comments, but if you knew how to get on a box you wouldn't have this problem. You are slamming your edge into metal of course it is going to get fucked up. learn how to jump!!

You know Line is no longer an independent ski company, right? They are owned by K2, which I don't think could be called a rider owned company. That being said, they do still make legit skis though.

First off that really hurt my brain trying to read that wall of words/ I had to read through several times and did so cuz I want to help.

Secondly yes you did reck your edge and the company has no obligation to warranty it. However I once tried to hit a rail with skate stops on it and pulled my edge. I sent the ski into Rossi and they fixed the ski and sent it back to me no charge. And that was before I started riding for them and was a nobody to the local ski shop. Hopefully line does the same for you.

Third as for the time delay I would look at the shop. I had an issue with a mountain bike fork like that once and the shop didn't even send it for 6 weeks after they had it.

We're bummed this happened but when skis are skied and smashed into things it will inevitably happen. It would be best to have the shop call up Line and see what the status is. We've got systems that get your back when things break but they take time and patience sometimes. Good luck and hopefully we haven't lost a fan forever!

Your systems are failing.
Don't worry, I work for a manufacturer (non-ski) and we have the same problems. Well, don't worry if you are good at finding new meat ;)

hahaha, so you dented/broke the tip on one of your skis and now think they're unski-able ?

you should see what my skis look like, i've actually put bolts through the tip to keep em from delaminating and about 2inch of edge is missing, but they still ski as good as they did on day 1 !

i bet that you couldn't feel the difference between skiing the broken ski and the good ski ...

Their bindings are top notch as well. I only know a couple people who have had serious falls and injuries as a direct result of how great Salomon bindings are.

I always love the threads when kids bitch about companies, when it is completely due to their lack of skiing ability.

I'd hate to ruin a good portion of kids dreams but, afterbangs do not contain special unicorn semen that all of a sudden makes you able to lock onto rails like Will Wesson or Parry....also it would help if you can jump ONTO the box unlike OP.

i was super nice and everything. i even sent them a letter (but not the cookies haha they would go stale by the time it takes for the skis to reach washington from mn haha) i realize i might sound like whiny bitch but please understand my frustration here. I apologize if it sounds really bad, i dont want to be mean or anything.

Make sure you get decent epoxy and pay attention to the instructions on mixing/using it. From experience, not mixing it properly and/or letting it dry in a cool basement are not going to help your cause at all. That's really the only part you can screw up...

Also, you can always use a piece of wood to span where the clamps don't get so it makes a nice sandwich:
