Just wondering if anyone has had any experience (good or bad) using a Panasonic MiniDV camcorder. I was told I could expect better quality than JVC, any thoughts?
It depends on the model. You want to look and see how many lines of horizontal and vertical resolution it can do. A good digital camera should have 500 horizontal by 460 vertical.
A good way to find out more about digital camcorders is to go to
or go to several stores and see what they say. Personally, I think that Sony and Canon are the best because they have excellent quality lenses and the $800-1000 models do 520 by 480 lines of resolution.
Cool, I know most of the technical stuff about camcorders, i was just looking for personal experiences and stuff.
also, Panasonic doesn't make any high end camcorders so they can't carry down some of the high end features to their lower priced cameras. How much do you want to spend?
what company makes the best affordable digital camera?
I'd say Canon and Sony. You can get a good one for about $650 that does everything you could ever imagine.
yeah, he was probably still worried about it..

"is that a high speed camera on the right or what is that"
i have a panasonic pv gs500. i bought it 4 years ago and it is great. at the time, panasonic was the only company that made 3 ccd (uses three chips, one for blue, red, and green to capture images instead of one) cameras. the image quality is extremely good in good light and decent in bad light and it handels cold weather really well. but now, you can get a decent hd camera for the price i paid.
Stick that in your blunt and smoke it. Thats right, I said blunt.
