Yeah the whole heat mold thing is just speeding up the process that would naturally happen if you just wear/ski in your boots for a while. So heating them up isn't actually necessary. The bootfitter at my shop where I got y FT's from actually told me that its better to just ski in them a few times while they get broken in, so that the molding actually forms to the shape of your foot while you are skiing.
I've had mine for about 10 days on the hill this year so far and they have molded beautifully without ever sticking them in a heater.
