I got this from playing soccer not sure it's the same thing. But i went to the physical therapist and he said it was a small connecting tendon/muscle (not sure which) but it connects your calf muscles to your hamstring muscles.
Try the stretch were lay on your back and put your leg up on the wall and push down with your heel for 5 seconds on the 5 seconds of for 30 seconds then hold for anywhere from 45 to 60 seconds. I have more if you want it.
Icing doesn't help after the initial injury occurs. Icing only helps within the first 48 hours or so. The best thing you can do is stay of it for a little and stretch and strengthen that muscle area. Maybe some heating with some sort of heat pad.
