I'm planning on skiing on a relatively older pair of bindings that I'm taking off my K2 Juvies.
They have a mid piece, so that they can be adjusted, because I used to outgrow boots every season.
Now that my feet have been planted at a firm size 11, can I remove the mid piece, or are they stock on skis?
if its a demo, you can usually mount the toe with out the track but you have to cut the screws, and if you can find a heal track for the retail version of the binding the demo heal will slide off the existing track, and into the retail track. it is a lot of work but if you can find the pieces it could work. pics will help.
I would say it's time for a new binding. Anything with an adjustable track like that is probably pretty low-end and if they're coming off a pair of Juvies then chances are they're not gonna stand up to much abuse.
Take the opportunity to upgrade to something better suited to you - or from another perspective, don't screw up a nice new ski by putting a shitty binding on it.
