i'm buying the slytech back protector over the poc spine ergo. the poc does not bend backwards at all so rodeos/backies are really unnatural. the slytech is more expensive but it bends and is very plyable and when it is hit it instantly stiffens to provide protection. way better in my opinion and you can actually bend backwards.
My understanding is that the Ergo and the Ergo Bug have the same shape and design. The difference is that the Bug is made with a sustainable plastic whereas the Ergo is not. I am first and foremost a free skier, my high school coach recruited me because our state champion skier got hurt so they needed another skier. I went with the Bug, and I will post a full review when I get it in this thread and maybe like a little check in after I ski with it in the coming days. Damn mid-atlantic!
I got the VPD vest. before that I had the POCito bug spine. The vest is really nice b/c it doesnt move around AT ALL, and the pad is flexible when its warmed by your body heat (It hardens upon impact). I hardly ever notice im wearing it, while the belt on the POCito was annoying as fuck.
Hope that helps
