at breck one day riding the t-bar with my homie...as we're standing in line we see this snowboarder couple in front of us. The girl is very reluctant to ride the t-bar as it's obvious that she's pretty new to the sport.
He finally convinces her to go up. (I'm assuming that all of you know how you have to ride a t-bar on a snowboard - the T between your legs and you ride one at a time.) He goes first to show her how it's done. She goes to get on the t-bar and crashes her first time, so she catches the next one. I see the difficulty she's having and realize that we should probably put some space between her and us because she's probably going to crash again - space allows us to not immediately run over her when she falls mid-mountain.
Right about mid-mountain she starts tracking all over the place. Next thing I know, she tracks right in to one of the lift support beams. She gets stuck on the downhill side of it with the bar still stuck between her legs. Obviously lift ops can't see what's happening, so they don't stop the lift resulting in the line building more and more tension. Finally, the tension became too great and she got "unstuck".
BAM - the t-bar sling shots her a good 30-40 feet in to the air. She was higher than the lift cables themselves....arms flailing...and BOOM - lands right on her back. This happens right in front of us thanks to my decision to leave a little bit of space between her and us. We yell at her and ask if she's OK to which she responds in a wind-knocked-out of her voice "Noooooo".
Best part is that her BF didn't see any of this happen as he was in front of her, so he just keeps going. A few minutes later the lift finally stops and we yell at him that he might want to go check on her because she just got FUCKED UP. I'm pretty sure they aren't together after that one....
the end.
