I just hope when the effort keeps rolling to legalize it, the opposition doesn't say "Well it's already pretty much legal". Well it's only like a traffic ticket to do something that shouldn't have ever been made illegal. It's good in terms of people not getting in as much trouble but still. what the fuck? The whole reason why it was made illegal in the first place is why I feel it won't be made legal ever. Obviously there is nothing wrong with it, obviously it is one of the most useful plants out there, but that doesn't matter.

The amount of lobbying that groups do to keep things like this from becoming legal makes me sick. We'd be in such horrible shape if we used hemp in industry as well as medicine. It would be such a terrible thing for the planet to use a clean renewable resource.

i actually come out west to alta/snowbird/brighton/solitude to ski in the winter.

If only utah allowed medical marijuana. my buddy sends weed from washington (medical friendly state) to michigan (medical friendly state) via UPS and while interstate delivery is illegal, hes never gotten in trouble once so far.

or its a stepping stone to making it legal, by doing this they are easing into fully legalizing it. This way the idea will become more familiar and thus have continually less opposition.

I don't think so though. If you want to legalize something legalize it. When a legalization bill comes up, why would people care as much. It's like a speeding ticket. You can speed if you want and if you get caught you pay a fine. I feel like that is the closest it will ever get to legal these days. Way to many groups lobbying with special interests that can't handle the legalization of marijuana. Basically the whole reason why it was made illegal in the first place. People said obama was going to legalize it. I said you're an idiot, won't happen kangfirmed.

Decriminalizing it just creates too many ambiguities and grey areas.


Great idea for smokers, but its not like you are in the clear yet.

In Michigan they have medical pot, but no way to obtain it or buy it legally. Although dispensaries are popping up everywhere and all of a sudden police are not raiding them until they feel like it, and then they raid the dispensary just to have the town/city have a meeting about how they need to have a yearly tax/registration for marijuana dispensaries and once shops comply with that they will consider dispensaries.

Still, someone got raided over that and had to deal with that BULLSHIT.

Decrim is a step in the right direction, but they need to skip it and move forward even more, or its just a cock tease.

here in california we have an exempt card. Allows me to have 99 plants and up to 2 pounds of dried cannabis.

It will never get legalized, there are too many powerful people making money.

Everyone with even the slightest bit of information on the subject knows it should not be a crime in any way but everyone from the DEA to pharmaceutical companies are making billions of dollars.

Mammoth wont have a dispensary any time soon. The chamber of commerce has shot down several attempts already. There is a pretty serious drug problem among the youth in that town, they have no intention on making it easier even if it is decriminalized.

Aside from that, there is no open container law... So you can openly walk around with a 40 or whatever drink you like in hand and they don't care. Works great for the town. Most of my friends have had to pay a few Gs paying off DUI's and DIP's.

Totally agree, it's decriminalized in Vermont (so literally 5 minutes from my dorm room in NH), but decriminalization is an awful idea. Decriminalization still leaves marijuana ILLEGAL, which isn't a step in the right direction.

I know it seems like asking for a lot, but legalize or nothing. I don't want to settle for halfway, because legally it makes the least sense to the general public.
