It looks like the winner was already chosen.  

Either way I'll still voice my opinion as per ashley's request. 

1 was technically pulled off the best but due to it being so cliche I wouldn't be able to give it my vote. 

I'd place my vote on 5 with some tips for the future.   When shooting glass especially on a lighter background you have to be very conscious of the reflections.  For this shot I would have put large black pieces of foamcore on either side of the glass.  This will give you more definition in the glass and cleaner reflections.  Also, you should have a large piece of foamcore (2-4x the size of the subject) that you are shooting through.  Cut out a hole in the board just large enough for your lens and then shoot through it (use the longest lens you have) and that will get rid of the reflections in front of the glass.

I only wanted to make you aware of the photo contest, I thought you'd be a great addition to have participating. But the feedback is great! We should really try to get as much feedback as possible really with anyone who has constructive advice for anyone else.

So the winner chose 'natural light portraits' which is cool and all, but we've done portraits twice and I was hoping for something more creative, maybe to do with the season's changing or something. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I know the winner will be cool with it since he's won once before and had you guys chose anyway. Let me know, I'd like to get the next week going. Thanks!

how about brokeh

bokeh is the art of using a blurred background to provide a pleasing contrast to the subject. In effect, the subject should be isolated away from the background and "pop"
