sure, i understand the theory. I'm just saying that when you're diffusing a bomb that could contain multiple triggers, etc., you're probably paying pretty close attention to EVERYTHING, and working very "softly" as the slightest touch of the wrong component could set the fucker off. It would take a semi-decent amount of pressure to break the skin with a needle.
It just seems like a dumb idea that is more of a scare tactic than anything. Purely speculation though. I don't diffuse bombs for a living.
