The more I think about it, the more I side with your parents. It may seem unfair now, but what they are doing is establishing a huge point of motivation for you to get good grades in the future. No matter what anybody says, good grades are a key element in your future and all your parents really want is to see you succeed. With these measures, I believe they are helping you to realize these ambitions.

Not most of it.

While I completely understand your disappointment and that you are pissed off, at your age your parents are pretty much entitled to "deprive" you of whatever "rights" they want.

They are feeding you probably 75% of the time, paying for your housing, education, maybe your insurance, maybe your cell, maybe giving you some walking around money.

Fact of the matter is that most people your age just don't understand what it really takes to live on your own, and you have very little understanding of just how much your parents lay out in terms of time and money and sacrifices in their own lives to see to it that you have a reasonably good upbringing.

Next time, keep those grades up. You had to know that this was a possibility, so if going was that important, maybe you should have kept your priorities straight and earned the grades to get you your freedom.

Be thankful that your parents are willing to lay down the law when it's necessary. I know plenty of kids who get to do whatever the hell they want because their parents aren't willing to seem unpopular.

Fact of the matter is that your parents end up being right about 99% of the time. At first it's infuriating, but as you get older, you'll hopefully stop being pissed about it and start asking them for advice BEFORE making the wrong decision.

Instead of being pissed about it, try honestly evaluating your school performance and working something out to where maybe you still get to go.

exactly...chances are you're not gonna go pro in skiing so why not put in the time now to get a decent education and then spend the rest of your life however you want. if you start with no education, your options are greatly limited. if you start with a good education, you have so many more options but you can still opt to bum it for a few years while you figure out what's important for you

yep...it's fucking painful to accept and seems so wrong but it's true...they are pretty much always right and they do 'bitchy' things for your own good because their primary focus is to raise you well

High school is probably the most boring thing that I have ever done, and the most worthless.

if your parents were paying then that would make sense, but if you are fully paying for everything then who is he to cancel that? drive to the airport yourself or have a friend drive you

Thats a B-/C+ average, like a 2.56 and on a 4 point scale GPA, that is not good.

with grades that bad (even worse considering its high school which is unbelievably easy) hell probably get kicked out pretty soon

In my school district, if you keep up 80 averages throughout high school you get a cash award. I don't understand how these marks are bad.

That being said, you aren't "unlucky" You just gotta study harder if your parents expect more.
