hopefully it comes out for Verizon, there is a video of it on engadget.com, i find it odd that they changed the form factor from a curved back, it seemed that would be more ergonomic. it does look a bit more upscale now, more HTCish for sure

i hate the way that my HTC fuze felt in my hand though, It felt really really cheap and I think that The curves make it feel not so cheap. like with an ipod compared to a zune

i guess it depends on the model, i have always felt that HTC makes solid phones. Have you seen the windows 7 series mobile OS, it looks sharp. The HTC HD2 is a fucking beast of a phone btw.

Seems pretty sick, I like the forward facing camera and the flash...the glassy backing is cool too. I read an article with this, and it said they might be playing around with the casing (i.e. the stupid shape), which is nice, cause that looks like it would suck to hold, I like the curved back of my 3gs, and I don't understand why they'd change it back to such a square shape. The bigger battery is nice too, but will make it slightly heavier. The screen is slightly smaller, but higher resolution...not sure exactly how I feel about that, I like the screen size now, but higher res would be sick too. Guess we'll have to wait till June to really see what they come out with.

My favorite part about my HTC was how customizible every little thing was. but i just hated holding it and havking it in my pocket. it was beautiful to look at, especially the back with the all the different raised patterns, but the sliding and touch screen feel quality was lame

shittiest thing will be the new bootrom.

the best iphone you can possibly have is the 3Gs 32gb(i guess space doesnt affect it much but) which doesn't have the stupid new bootrom.

For those of you who dont know what the new bootrom does, it basically causes any jailbreak on your iphone to be tethered (if your iphone shuts off, you lose your jailbreak and cannot turn it back on without attatching it to a computer), they created the new bootroms halfway through the 3Gs glory period, so some have the new boot rom, others dont.

luckily my android phone is backed by a company that cares about consumer freedom, its so easy to flash new ROMs and swap kernels on the droid. stock it runs at 550Mhz (not great), but people have got them up to 1.3Ghz, and there are solid low voltage systems at 800Mhz (what i use). I got unlimited tethering and give verizon a big middle finger for charging people for MiFi when they can do it for free. I love beating the system.

yeah, I have one of the earlier 3gs models (32gb actually) and when jailbroken it doesn't reset which is nice, my friend has the new bootrom in his, and he's bricked his phone like 3 or 4 times (one of which he wasn't near a computer for a few days so he was quite fucked). I never re-jailbroke mine after the latest update, it wasn't really worth the effort for me to do it anymore because I never really used everything, and most of the jailbreak apps have a decent counter-part in the app store (at least the ones I used), so I guess it's not a big deal for me. I probably wont be getting this new model anyways (mostly cause of the stupid upgrade policy where you have to pay to cancel your contract and renew to get the phone), so I'll be waiting a year to see what comes out next June I guess.

Yeah the new bootrom sucks, my ipod touch has it. I doubt it's really crackable either with firmware signing and all the other anti-hacking crap that's programmed into it. It was worth the faster processor though, and as long as i don't let the battery die, it's not a big deal. Too bad my iPod broke and when I warrantied it I had to install 3.1.3 on the new one.

too mad the android doesn't have near as many apps, emulators, and other features as a jailbroken iphone :)

Just take a look in the App Store, I get 95% of those apps free, thats only a part of jailbreaking.

That was for the 3g model...in order to get the new phone you need to be eligible for an upgrade on your contract, then you can get it....but most upgrades are 18 months after the contract is signed so even if you bought the new phone on the day it came out, you can't get it for another 6 months...and by then you might as well just wait for the next one. So the only way to get it is to cancel your contract (which has a fee of almost $300) and sign a new contract (which also means loosing any rollover minutes and might be more expensive than your old one depending on your contract).

And before people start saying "another reason why apple/at&t suck"...Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint also have the same exact thing in their contract...so when the new Droid or Palm (if that even happens, Palms looking pretty fucked right now) phone comes out, you'll have to wait too.
