Parents ever threaten to send you to military school?

I was sharing stories with a few of my friends this morning about this seemingly common threat that parents make around the time you're in 7th grade... I'm pretty sure every dude out there has probably received this threat from their parents at one time or another... most likely when they're like 12 or something...

I know I did.. parents almost sent me to some dipshit school in Northern Alabama, and looking back at it, the reason was quite funny to me...



Anyone remember when your parents threatened this to you?

one time while my parents were away i had a few friends over
still a little young for drinking, but we did roll my dad's new 52 inch tv out to the campfire
i dont see why he was so pissed, we had carpet squares under it

if you fucked with my 52 inch tv i wouldn't have bothered with military school. i woulda just abandoned you.

Yeah, I used to get this threat all the time and I absolutely hated the idea. Then I voluntarily went to a military college and it's not nearly as bad as I'd thought.

Lol. I love how my parents threatened it... here's a cool story for you.

First of all, I already went to a super tiny catholic school... you can't get much worse than that as it is... I had no friends there, the girls were freaking weird, I had to wear this godawful dark blue uniform even if it was 110 outside, and not only that but I was a bit of an outcast seeing as I was raised half-jewish by my mother/grandparents...

So I rebelled, didnt do my homework (I felt it was useless, least for history and socials and shit which I was way ahead of everyone on as it was) and I would sneak out in the middle of church and chill in the bathroom, or sneak out to the computer lab and play videogames while everyone else was in church for like 3 1/2 hours.

None of it was really a big problem.. because other kids did it too... however, when I started questioning the whole "jesus is the messiah" thing publicly, the faculty decided to be dbags and tell my parents about all the ditching and shit... and i started getting worse grades because my homeroom teacher took it to heart and started outcasting me like a bitchcunt.

So this pissed me off even more.. and I found other ways to rebel on top of this and so my parents threatened me with sending me to military school in either Georgia or Alabama...





First thing I did was google "ski areas in Alabama and Georgia"... bahahaha.

Then, I found out that the school in Alabama did a 2 1/2 week long ski trip to Steamboat Springs every year in February. When I told them I actually wanted to go... They balked at it, and I found out they were basically just bluffing.

My parents were owned by skiing, and my complete addiction to it...

they have threaten to do that many times already ( i am only in grade 9) the last time they did was yesterday my dad showed me a pamphlet and everything.

no because like a week after the first time i got in trouble for smoking i was walking at the same time my mom was walking the dog and happend upon her smoking a j on the walk. we've been chill since then.  and i guess i was never the asshole teen, i only disregarded my parents a handfull of times all through HS

i got the threat between 7th and 8th grade, it worked, for a year. In hindsight I would have been better off going to a private school.

exactly... I went to freaking catholic school, and I wasn't even really that catholic...

That said, the Catholics aren't all up on the whole evangelical church 'crazy stuff' i suppose... But they do believe that they can turn wine into jesus blood...

I see it as an excuse to just get wasted in church... No wonder the Irish, Germans, Italians, and Czechs are all drunken catholic bastards...

I don't ever think my parents threatened me but that's because my brother was the rebel of the family. Anything I did was nothing compared to what he did. I've actually had 2 friends sent off to military camps. Well one was a wilderness camp and he was like 16. The funny thing is both of their parents were super laid back, or so I thought.

My dad kinda wanted us to go to military school but because he went and liked it(crazy I know but its a long story). My mom said hell would freeze over before we were ever sent away. So know but they threatened not to pay for college all the fucking time.

my parents threatened my brother about all of his freshman year of highschool. now he goes to st. johns military academy. he hates it so much, it sounds really shitty because the older and higher ranking guys have complete power over you and a lot of them are super corrupt. i feel bad for him, except hes learning tp play the bagpipes there

My dad was a drill sgt. in Vietnam, so he's not too keen on the military anymore. Plus I never really gave them a reason to think about it.
