Front mount

Any ideas on a front mount? it might be a stupid idea but what would the advantages and disadvantages be, I think it would be pretty cool to try a mount that is above center. Whose with me?

Forward mount, you sound mentally handicapped saying front mount. I mean if you want to go for it, i tried my friends skis like it and it was a little different but after those skis he went back to center.

there are numerous threads on this juat search forward mount.

and it isnt a new idea. some people claim that dumont jo and jossi forward mount by a centimter or two. it honestly wont make a massive difference. it might make skiing switch easier and landing straight easier. also it would make tail grabs easy as well. unfortunately it would result in worse forward skiing.

honestly, there is no point. all the people i know who've done it regret it, switch skiing is so much easier at center

One of my buddy's rode front mount. It didnt seem to gvie him any advantage at all, maybe a little better landing switch off of big hits and taking off switch. But overall I doesnt really help what most people need. Unless you ride switch, carve switch, take off and land switch, theres really no advatages.

I would say go for it.  I wanted to and drew a line on my chronics about 1 cm in front of center but the shop wouldn't do it.  I got a call saying the line I drew was in front of center and "I don't want them mounted there" and I said I know, I want them there but the guy just thought I was retarded.

I have a pair of my skis mounted 1cm forward of center. I liked them, I didn't notice too much of a difference but there wasn't any negative effects either. I'd say for it and if you don't like it remount. I would say blunts were a little bit easier as well as switch.

To me if you balence your weight out all perfectly on a ski that it would be slightly ahead of center and might even be better at air. BUt if u didnt balence mount and just front mounted it wud jus be better at going switch.

turpin shreds big mountain lines switch, so he needs the gear for it. he has physically forgotten how to ski forward and he would immediately crash if he tried.  so clearly he mounts the ARGs front of center

If you're standing straight up and down on top of your skis, your center of balance is going to be under your heels, so if you ski like that, then sure, mount center of forward to center the ski on your balance point.

Nobody skis like that. Your stance puts weight on the balls of your feet, thus, a truly balanced mount would have the center under that part of your foot.

That being said, do whatever you want. Only way to know if you'll like it is to try it.

mount schizo bindings centre and then screw the bindings forward 3 cm. if you like it, leave them at this position, if you dont then get them back to center or -3.

Yea ive got the Griffon Schizos and I have them at plus 3 from center on my S7'S. Super weird but then again its super fun. Spining is extremly easy.

I think thats the best idea with Schizos. Get them mounted at dead center, and then you will be able to move back 3, and forward 3. What skis are you getting them on?
