I agree with all of that, 100%.
I don't think selecting Logan made sense if their plan was to just drag the winner to the spring park shoot to get a couple of shots on a 100ft. table. Picking Logan suggests to me that they essentially made a longterm investment as if it were the NFL draft.
Yeah, I believe that Austin, Karl, McCrae, Clayton, Tim, and Spencer all would have probably brought more to the table (no pun intended) immediately (meaning a spring park shoot...and maybe some of the other entries would fit into the group I named above. Hell, some of the honorable mentions would have.) But, in my opinion, based on creativity, diversity, and all around freshness of approach, Logan was definitely in the upper echelon of the entries. So, like in the NFL, you don't always pick the player that will be of most use right away (or even the overall most talented player if you already have a great player at that same position), but you take someone based on their future ability to develop and based on the needs your team has.
So...even if Logan wasn't "the best player left on the draft board", he might be the player that best fills their perceived needs. And, does Level1 really need another kid that absolutely slays park? Their roster is STACKED with arguably the most talented and stylish park skiers in the world.
Orrrr......a credible source might have revealed that they wanna bring Logan to a late season Alaska heli-trip...
