Dreadlock opinions

What are you guys' opinions on dreads? im kinda thinking about getting them.

specs: length about 15 inches. thick handles well in most conditions

If your gonna do it, you should not care about peoples opinions or else you will get them shaved within the first week of getting them. If your gonna do it, do it because you like them, because people are gonna hate on them everyday. Whats your opinion on dreadlocks?

I've got a few friends with dreads. I hope you know that they're pretty high maintenance to keep clean and shit. They start to eat each other, so you have to pull them apart and keep them separate. Thin dreads are sick. Thick, grimy ones are gross.

Also, very few white guys can pull dreads off.

girls like it more, its easier to maintain, cooler, feels better overall etc.

if you're white (which i'm assuming you are), it's much harder to look good with dreads.

If you think you can pull it off though, go for it. you only live once.

Everyone in here is just hating. I had dreads for a while and I was like the coolest kid in school because of it. They are not grimey.

Just make sure you do them right. Also make sure your hair is long enough because you will lose like a pretty good amount of length and when I did mine that was my one fatal mistake.

Everyone thought they were awesome I just personally felt like they were a little too short. I didn't have them for long, I had to cut them off because my job started complaining and I just didn't want to deal.

And it was more like 2003.

If you want them, do them.

They'll take a long time to get done, and then you have to put in work to keep them going. Don't expect them to be easy. And they'll be haggard for the first little while, but it gets better. At 15 inches you'll have decent length dreads to start off with, but it will get a lot shorter.
