No apparently not. I searchbarred and bumped the other thread thinking they were on the same page.
http://www.moe.org/snoedown/?c=245 snow.down=winter festi put on by the band moe. every once in a while. They did it in like 06 and 07(i think those were the years) in lake placid. moe. has they're regular summer fest they put on every year moe.down, so snow.down makes sense for the winter one.
moe. (2 nights)
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
Assembly of Dust
The Heavy Pets
Hot Day at the Zoo
Plus railroad earth, assembly of dust heavy pets, and so many others. So no completely different party
Being an ignorant asshole still isn't cool. Most bands wish they could jam. Moe. plays everything from rock, country, to ridiculous jams. And they rock the shit out of it.
Ignorant people these days. There are bands I don't like, but I respect good musicianship. Just the fact that most band's that are cool these day's couldn't pull off 5 percent of what some of the jambands are doing these days. And my musical tastes are quite varied.
I don't listen to only jam music. But this is a fucking party. Have fun with your lady gaga and closed mind
for making money, i wouldn't dare disagree. but as a musician myself, i can say that not only is jamming waaayyy too fun, but it really is amazing to experience the connection between band members-- my pianist and i can jam and nail transitions and feels without ever having talked about them beforehand. and not to mention some of the best musicians in the world are, to an extend, jam band members.
the lowest for of music is not jam bands. jam band are extrodinarily talented and it take skill and time to prefect songs that to some people are fucking awsome, others are just ok and some kids with flat peaked hats and tall tees think they sound like shit. well my friend the lowest for of music is the ever popular and forever horrible mashup. thats right, the mashup. fuck everyone who has made a mashup and double fuck people who ike them, that made them so popular.
what kind of douchebag quotes eheath twice in their signature?
Looks sick, I wish I could make it down there haha
Its sad how people are so close minded and stubborn these days, and to the guy that said jamming's the lowest form of music: I disagree, there is not "low" form of music, but if I had to choose I'd say this is a good contender:
Coming from somebody who probably like bands that have shit written for them. It's one thing to not like something, but good jam bands are good musicianship. If you just pass that off with a dumb comment like that, your ignorant to music.
No way around it. The flow in and out of song. Most bands could only dream of being able to do that. I like many different style of music. Music is my thing. But you sir, I laugh at you, and I'll go have plenty more fun at show's since you probably don't go to many or any in the first place.
dude, just quit. You sound like an idiot. If you play music, as i do, or appreciate good music, you can find good musicianship in style that you may not even enjoy. You saying that jambands are the lowest form of music, but claiming yourself as a musician is just laughable. JThe technical skill to jam is something many bands just cannot do. They have a pre written song that they practice and play the identical track every time live. Believe me, I've been to a shitload of show of different styles. Jam music needs a cohesiveness between members to the point where they can create the same song, completely differently, everytime they play it. Teasing into a another song in the middle sometimes. It's pretty amazing technical skill.
There are plenty of bands and styles that i don't like but appreciate the good musicianship involved to make it.
how could one say that jam bands are the lowest form of music. it takes talent to have a fluid sound when your shit is rehearsed nevermind on the fly, or just jamming out. there are very few 'real bands' that can just freestyle it and have a great sound. ive been to plenty of Roots concerts and the most fun part of the show is when Quest Love and Captian Kirk or whoever else is there are just jamming out in between sets.
ever seen these guys before? they kill it and have fun doing it:
I got kicked out of Barnes & Nobles for putting all the bibles in the fiction section.
