Hey guys, wondering if anyone has mounted up an armada JJ to tour with? I am trying to decide what to do for next years quiver. If i should just keep my line motherships and throw a AT binder on or if i should put an AT binder on the JJs. Any advise?
First off, you should prolly throw something like this in gear talk next time. But no worries.
Let me preface what I am about to say by letting you know that I haven't skied the JJ's (though I have ridden ARG's). I think they would be a pretty sick touring setup. I know they are a fairly light ski, certainly lighter than the Mo' Ships, and with the regular camber underfoot you shouldn't have a problem with them gripping going uphill. I know Ian Provo rides Dukes on his JJ's all the time and goes touring with them, so I think they will work fine for you. I say make the JJ's the AT setup, then throw some regular binders on the Motherships for an inbounds charging ski.
Cool, thanks for the advice. I like the mo'ships they are just heavy heavy skis! Pretty burly SOB's The JJ's are sweet i just don't want to weigh them down with the duke on. Wondering about putting the griffons on and buying the trekkers.

I'll have Dukes next year. Trekkers are the jankiest devices ever conceived. Your toe will not sit straight, the plastic will snap, your brakes will drag, and they take up space in your pack on the way down. They do get the job done, though.
that is not true for every case, im 118lbs i don't see a need for the duke. halfway through my second season on the barons and i am not easy on them. they are also the type of binding that requires more attention than other. there's a really good up keep thread over on TGR for Duke/Barons.
