Mad River Saturday, December 26th

This Saturday is the Louie Vito rail jam at Mad River. I know this is a snowboard event; however, its open to skiers, as well.

Anyone and everyone thats within driving distance should make a solid attempt to come. It'd be sick to have a large turn out of skiers and everyone lay it down. Below is the schedule of events:

Schedule Of Events
  • 2:00p-3:30p Registration
  • 3:00p-4:00p Practice
  • 4:30p-5:30p 10-13 Jam
  • 6:00p-7:00p 14-17 Jam
  • 7:30p-8:30p 18+ Jam
  • 9:00p Awards

    • This will definitely be a good time and sick set-up. The park is super sick right now. Bulzan and Heff were laying down cab 10s over the 2nd hit. That should give you a fair idea of the size. Anyone traveling from afar, PM me and I'll see what I can do about sleeping arrangements.

    The after party will be worth the drive alone.

    Expect the park to be sick - I know Al and team will do a solid job. However, I wouldn't set the bar crazy high as its supposed to rain at least a half an inch Thursday and taper off by mid-Friday. The rails shouldn't be affected too much, but the jumps might not be 100%.

    Either way its going to be a blast. Who all do you guys plan on bringing up?

    took out the bottom 6 rails on the left to move snow around for the Loiue Vito rail jam. but i added an upbar at the bottom of sugarbush. new stuff going in daily all week.

    So far we have Laker, Geopper, Kam, Kyle Taylor, Busken, Ian, Schwab, Kate and our filmer all going. I am pretty sure there will be a couple others making the trip up with us to tho.

    Does anybody know if there is a skiers division or if it is all lumped together?

    i think it depends on how many skiers.  last year there wasnt enough in many of their contests to make a separate catagory.  plus its hosted by a snowboarder, so i dont think we can win the big prizes.

    i want to say that the winner of the windells camp is actually decided by a drawing of all of the participating riders rather than performance based.... don't quote me on that though

    Dude, you have to show up before 5 PM this year. There will be several people riding through the park. It'll show some ware and tear by 5 or 6 PM after 1000 kids have been hitting all the features for 6 hours.

    Get up there no later than noon you can make a fair assessment.

    We are headed out around 10. So we should be their around 12ish I would think, cant remember how long the drive is. But we are bring a crew of 13-15 with laker, kam, schwab, busken, ahall aka whiteman, kyle taylor, jake, bryce and our filmer.

    Hopefully it will be at least a good time skiing with all you guys, just hoping their is some stuff so we can get some shots. And a skiers division would be nice!

    I believe its everyone together since its the louie vito rail jam.

    I can talk to the organizers about making a skiers division.

    It shouldnt matter if everyone is together - just ask Kday - he won 1st place and best trick in a rail jam of skiers and snowboarders.

    im confident that skiers will earn respect and podium positions with a larger skier turnout.

    adams ski shop is at the same exit as mrm. I know absolutely nothing about their quality of work; however, its at the same exit and a convenient location.

    get there either way - its going to be sick!!!

    Only the Louie setup will be closed to the public, the rest of the park with somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 features and 5 jumps will be open all day. I have been waiting a long time, but our new 45ft DFD was put in yesterday and it is sick.

    We are also going to run a skier division so skiers will not be judged with the snowboarders, however do to time restrictions you will ride along with the boarders. I have talked up all of the skiers showing up so don't let me down.

    F word.  i wish I didn't have this family event today.  I would prefer to be at MRM.  shit sounds ballin this year. 

    Hope the skiers drop knowledge... and skill up there.

    i brought my ski stuff home from colorado to ohio specifically so i could ski MRM, just drove a collective 5 hours down and back today and i don't regret any of it whatsoever. mad river is <b>sick</b>.

    bmbw and snowtrails should take notes.
